This one took some work and a lot of guesses that I knew were wrong.

I'm also starting to think Scoredle is bullshit. My opening word was crest. It says the best guess after that is tepee. There's no fucking way that's the best guess. Unless I've been wrong about how it works and it makes guesses with the knowledge of the word? Because that's just dumb.

It's not bad. It all but guarantees placement of the e and determines whether or not it repeats. That said, diverse vowels tend to be better.

I got curious so did some looking. It evaluates known letters and compares the results to the most common position and letter usage from the entire remaining word list.

That said, I'm still not sure that it's better to go for repeated letters so early on. Especially given that if "e" is in the word but not in the middle, it's most probably going to come at the end of the word and a different vowel is going to be the middle letter.
