So, I bought this game to help me get through my summer time slump.

My summer time slump happens when it's too hot to go outside. June through September are the worst months of the year in my state, and it always plunges me into a depression.

I stop doing my normal hobbies, I can't walk my dog. I hate everything about it.

I caved, and bought Elden Ring because I was really into Sekiro. Had no idea they were the opposite type of game. In Elden Ring, you just wander aimlessly in any given direction with no idea how to navigate or keep track of where you are going. You walk in a direction until you run into something that is too strong for you to beat, and then you repeat again and try to figure out where you took the wrong turn.

I just played for about a half hour when I realized that I could be doing something that's actually fun and rewarding, like jacking it. I really want to get into this game, but I have no idea what the actual appeal is.

Can someone motivate me to play this hot garbage?

There is very detailed map that shows you exactly where important locations are...

Where do you live where it's "too hot to go outside" just wear a tank top..

I live in one of the hottest states in the country. There's no reason to be outside walking around right now.

I live in South Florida and this is easily the best part of the year.

Heat, sun, and lots of vitamin D helps depression. If it's 50 or lower outside, I'm not going out.

I'd rather it be 110 than 50 or lower.

I work outside for 3 months in the summer on Catalina Island in Los Angeles County and it's great. It gets hot, but again, warm weather>>>>>cold weather.

As far as Elden Ring goes, it's an open world game. If you don't like open world games, you won't like it. Also, the game tells you where to go every time. Just look at where the traced of grace point to on the map. It's quite detailed.

This too. Elden Ring is probably the easiest Souls game because there are MANY different ways to bust it.

Everything is not for everyone just keep jacking it

I didn't say the game was too hard for me, I said it was hard to get into. I know if I wander in the right direction I'll get leveled up or upgrades, but this is ridiculous.

But it's really not... The game makes it pretty obvious where you should and shouldn't go at first.

Follow the direction the markers on the map are pointing to. I was lost also until a buddy told me that. The markers look like gold flames kinda pointing towards a next grace site. Also you need to keep killing weaker enemies to level up and some of them drop stronger weapons or pieces of armor. You can upgrade your weapons with smiting stones also.

None of this is really told in game I discovered alot by roaming around did you unlock your horse yet?

On each fogged map if you look there will be a faint marker that looks like a standing stone. Go there to grab a fragment r from a Map Stele and then just look for anything odd / unusual on the map. Something will probably be there

Personally I referenced an online map just to see where major locations is

Dont have the time to wander empty areas looking for stuff

if you don't like the whole open world wandering random whatever shit, then you might want to call it quits now

If you dont like good games then play bad ones
