Diagnosed more cases in the last 2 days then the last 2 months. This reminds me so much of when the CDC recommended cessation of mask use last summer.

I just got it for the first time. Been feeling bad the past few days and finally tested myself this morning. Had a bad fever last night. I was shivering so much my body was like it was seizing up. Now I just feel shitty and have a horrible headache. A friend/coworker got it too earlier this week. We haven't been around each other so I don't' know where I got it from.

People at work ask me why I still wear a mask. When I say the numbers are higher now than back when they wore a mask, they just laugh.

What I don't understand is that the reported numbers don't seem to match up with how many cases I'm seeing.

Here in NYC the majority of people have given up on precautions. I think this thing is going to keep rebounding for a long time

You're in a more conservative area, yeah? I know I'm in Trump country and I've been seeing more and more mask use for the last month or so. I'm even seeing people who I never would have suspected wearing a mask. Makes me wonder if they caught it bad or know someone who did.

As long as it's mainly the unvaccinated being affected, I don't care all that much anymore. Fuck em.

Given how quickly antibodies vanish, I suspect most people who haven't had a booster in the past few months are highly susceptible

I definitely havent seen a mask increase here. Id say like 95% arent wearing masks.

When you're a hospitalist at the largest tertiary hospital in your state, as it turns out they work pretty well

i can't keep up with the covid swings anymore, it's been swinging for the past 2 years and it is what it is at this point

can't control other peoples actions, can only control my own. and because of that i'm not going to run and hide whenever one of these short lived spikes happen. It'll be over in like 2 weeks in my state and then some new variant will come, cases will spike for a month, and then back to normal

This is my guess.
My whole family got Covid on vacation. Took home tests, isolated, didn't get bad enough to be hospitalized. That was like 5 cases the CDC doesn't know existed.

if everyone acted like I did, which is ordering delivery, not hanging out around people too long and being naturally socially distanced, it would probably have been done many months ago. I still have to work for a living, i haven't been to a concert or public gathering in years, and up until a few months ago i was still required to wear a mask at work even though I'm vaccinated and boosted.

Thanks. Thankfully besides that awful fever I don't feel too bad as a lot of people did. I feel like I just got a really bad hangover.

I'm debating trying to get that 4th booster, but I think I'd have to 'lie' and say I live with someone immunocompromised, and I dunno if I wanna lie to get it, but it's been like 15 months since my 3rd one. <_<

I am damn near always the only person in the building wearing a mask when I go out. Nobody gives even a single shit about the pandemic anymore, and at this point I'm kinda just waiting to see how bad the next spike is gonna be.

I'm probably gonna tell them I live in an apartment complex (which is true, and was one of the high-risk areas mentioned during the first rollout) and hope it sticks.

I've been waiting to get the greenlight on the second booster. I'm not entirely sure why they're holding out. Are they waiting for "updated" shots that are good against more variants?

I got my 4th shot about a month ago

Maybe when gas hits 8 bucks national, people will self lockdown for a couple months and things will die down.

Delivery is so expensive that you cant always order it and I have no choice but to leave home to work or I dont get paid a single penny

Id much rather go to the grocery store than order stuff. I just go during times that arent busy.

Caught covid at home a couple weeks ago. (Stepmom got sick a few days before I started to feel sick and I hadnt been anywhere besides work where Im not really around people) Had no fever, but it gave me an ear infection and I had a headache.

yeah i don't always get delivery, other times its just take out. and I've been working nonstop, it was all remote at first but now we're shifting back to in person

Individual choice plays a role as well in keeping the pandemic going but I would agree the decisions of elected officials carry far more significant weight in how this pandemic has played out. They shouldve forced vaccinations and implemented far more rigid lockdown/quarantine policies if we were to effectively combat this virus and not only save millions of lives but also the poor health care workers from being overworked. Now all we can do is shame others for their choices since our officials have been so inept, at least it feels good to be on the mature side looking down on those people who thinks theyre just trying to go on with their lives and not live in fear lmao so fucking immature

My coworkers are always making fun of me for still wearing my mask after having been vaccinated multiple times.

This is the rates for my county. Its actually pretty decent compared to rest of America.
