The remake (in America) improved everyone by leaps and bounds. Tifa isnt terrible anymore abd actually amazing, Cloud got the stench of Compilation games off him, Aeris for the first time ever outside of Japan original game was able to show she wasnt meant or written to be this demure fake princes type character, and Barret my god Barret. Barret went from low middle/high low tier to maybe straight up #1. It is hard to think of any characters that got more of a upgrade from previous games to a new one other than maybe DMC 3 Vergil. ...
