Match 3 is a real shame, I really liked both songs. But at least I'm grateful the other 2 matches were fairly easy. Nocturne, especially, is a really interesting song that tries some really interesting stuff (yhe same can be said of my pick for the 3rd match).

MATCH 1

Storm of Fine Weather has this cool "digital" sound with the synths. I like 0:00-0:22 the most. I guess the melody there in that lead synth sounds better than it does at any other part of the song.

I like Seashore War, but I don't usually have the preference for this kind of ambient music. There isn't a lot about this song that makes me feel inclined to vote for it. Some of the Donkey Kong Country music stands out to me more, but unfortunately, this one doesn't.

MATCH 2

Nocturne's okay. Nothing special, but fine to listen to for the most part. Really dislike 5:55-6:27 though.

Sogno di Volare is also not really my thing, but there's definitely more to like about it for me than Nocturne, so it's an easy vote.

MATCH 3

Into the Woods is really catchy! I've had it on my mind on and off for maybe the past week or so. Especially that flute section at 0:37. But it's a really cool song all around. Shame I couldn't vote for it here.

LIN NE KRO NE won the catchiness war here! I thought about this song a lot during the nomination period. I mainly prefer the singing parts here as well as that drop at 1:50. The latter makes me feel like I'm standing in some Boiler Room set or something. Also I like how 0:34 is so much like this part of Re:Vanishment (https://youtu.be/NIPkjLV_rj8?t=89), though, of course, it's the same composer.

My one gripe with this Under Defeat song is a lack of variety by the halfway point, because I am living for the synths in this. I'm really digging these futuristic vibes The electric guitar is such a welcome addition as well, it helps give it that cool factor that sticks out more in my mind. Such a cool song.

Not my immediate fav DKC song (I actually know very little outside of the "original trilogy-DK64-Diddy Kong Racing-couple of Land songs" bubble that I've grown up in), but I really do appreciate the soft, mystical vibe I feel from the instruments throughout this. Maybe I should give Tropical Freeze a try someday.

Nocturne definitely does feel like it goes on for a bit longer than intended, but it's hard to not like 2 genres I really like put together in a way that doesn't overpower the other.

Latin choirs don't do much for me (I don't think they're bad, I think I've grown bored of them sounds more accurate), so instead I'm really here for the triumphant orchestra in the back that sounds like you're about to do something scary yet incredible.

Solid forest theme, the instruments feel so wonderful to listen to, and I immediately wanna go adventuring every time it plays.

This WACCA song definitely hits that "quirky techno" spot that I like to hear, with the vocals and synths working together well in this.

Seashore War: A lonesome iceberg drifts away from the coast, slowly but surely distancing itself, though in the process becoming ever smaller.

Nocturne: In the dark of night, guided only by the gleam of streetlights, a skateboarder rides along the sidewalk, executing various flips and grinds with ease.

Sogno di Volare: Desperately pedalling with all their strength, the inventor looks up breathlessly at the scenery as they lift off and ascend into the sky.

Storm of Fine Weather 4.5 main instrumentation was repetitive. it had a cool tech metallic sound about it. Like more shmup feels.

Seashore War 7.5 Beautiful and meloncholic song. Not my favorite song but the tropical freeze ost is one of my favorites. I love when the vocals come it to give it that extra oomph. It really adds weight to this impactful song. I like the journey this song takes you on as well, going from something simple to deep, back to simple again.

Nocturne 6 Song probably isn't something i'd seek out to listen to, but if it played in the background I would enjoy it a lot. Feel like I'm slipping into a trance with this song. It's a nice mix of hypnotic and freeform drum improvization. The part at 6min was too hectic for me but I can see some people liking it. I'm glad it was short enough so we could go into the lofi light cymbal hitting, that was nice easy listening.

Sogno di Volare 8.5 This song made me realize just how awesome grand orchestra music can be. Also that I really need to listen to more civ music if it's anywhere close to this calibur. This song made my favorites list when i first listened to it in nominations. I really like the main "una volta" line. Just the deep pounding of the drums in sych with the harmonizing of the foreign vocals gives me a sense of longing for triumph, redemption and new beginnings.

Into the Woods! 7 Hi sergio cornaga core :) I think the first time he introduced this song to me, personally, I found it a bit weird but somewhat interesting. I won't pretend like I'm madly in love with this now, but I find the hard hitting parts that strike you seemingly out of nowhere and lack a cohesive rhythm are actually pretty fun and unique. It doesn't fit into the monotony of a regular 4/4 time signature (i'd assume) and have a sense of anticipation and surprise.

LIN NE KRO NE 4 A sad computer program cries out in the form of corruption and errors. The samples and break glitchcore in this give it some interesting texture, but it's weird in the sense the glitch sounds are irritating while the vocals are boring and generic. I don't hate the song, it just doesn't mix well for me.

Overall a pretty cool day today, a lot of unique stuff that i mostly enjoyed
I need more time to develop a full opinion on it (though im confident today) but nocturne could end up bein special for me
