I've been seeing lots of users get warned, suspended, or banned lately. And in another board, I just saw a few long time frequent users suddenly close their accounts, much to the surprise of fellow users.

I also recognized that having an alt account tends to have certain reasons for shame. Like being a newly opened account might hint that the user was previously banned for a reason. Or pretending you have allies, and then getting caught agreeing with yourself in an argument.

So that got me thinking, what would you do if your account got banned? Would you make a new account, then come right back with a vengeance? Or wait until the stigma of your old account is forgotten, then come back with a new account?
Or make a new account, but never return to the same place for some reason? Shame, or other interests?
Or would you be too frustrated with losing years of user levels, karma, and badges, that you'd rather not rebuild?

We know that addiction to social media and discussion boards can really get to people, and I've seen many who have been congratulated for announcing their departure from a mobile game, or this entire website. Would YOU consider an involuntary banishment an opportunity for a better life?

probably wouldn't care to make a new account, but honestly why would i bother making any contingency plans for an event that's never going to happen? it's phenomenally easy to not get banned

What else am I supposed to do on gamefaqs besides post on CE?

If I somehow managed to get banned, that means I've been here for too long and it's time to move on.

Be annoyed for 5 minutes (unless I was specifically trying to get banned), then just find something else to do. I'd probably eventually make a new account.

That is assuming it's a usermap axe. Otherwise I'd just sign on to one of my alts (which I'm very open about them being my alts, they all say "Trumble alt" in the sig, though they all have gimmicky usernames so would be a bit weird to make any of them a main).

I usually never do anything bad enough to get a suspension.

A few bs moderations every once in a while.

I tend to alternate accounts every half year and let the moderation history clear out.

Be sad.

Move on with life.

If I got banned then I'd end up leaving for good

You know I was already on my way but getting EnigmaticGale banned was a pretty big wake up call that I needed to get sober.

If one of my accounts got banned I would close the other and leave.

They clearly don't want me here anymore, so no point in hanging around any further.

Outside
