Lea claiming a role like that early on seems pretty towny, that'd be putting a lot of unnecessary attention on her otherwise.

Initial Ulti aggression towards Mzero already feeling familiar(And yes you're unblocked).

Something about IGCD though, he comes in voting Lea, says he doesn't like Ulti's post... except for the part where he attacks Mzero, but then doesn't indicate a dislike of mzero?

IGCD, you explained that you saw Ben as disingenuous. I don't think you went into detail of the other users mentioned, could you walk me through that?

Rule of 3 tells me one of Lea/Ulti/IGCD is also scum... even though I feel pretty good about all 3 right now. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it

"Asking for a friend" here is... weird, sorta like he's implying that he's a miller. Miller's the one that scans as scum when he's not, right? So why would there be both an Invisible and a Miller?

He also asks for a mass claim (I presume joking) in post 11. This is followed by "Mafia players are like cops, they can't lie about their alignment." is... yeesh (Chang noted that plum never said he was town despite this, but plum tried to spin Ben's words here even though Ben directly said he was town.

Plum posted nothing on page 2, and on page 3 you're needling him about him saying you always think he's scum. He gets defensive, then admits he's still processing Lea's instant claim.

Han in general always thinks I am scummy, regardless of alignment. I think he is more likely to be town because I think scum Han would know spearheading a lynching against town would look poorly on him and he probably could do it with less gusto.

On the topic of Plum, I feel like I'd need another day to really tell whether he's scum or not. But take that with a grain of salt; I'm bad at following the interactions between people earlier in the game.

On the topic of Lea's role, if she's telling the truth, then I believe her claim was pro-Town. Wish I could've made the point first so that my post wouldn't seem "unnecessary", but I agree with MZero. It's far more likely for town powers who attempt to target Lea to stay quiet about not being able to target her, because they wouldn't want to immediately claim they were blocked, allowing other power roles to silently target her. (I mean, some townies are a little trigger-happy on claims, but barring them, most power roles would like to stay hidden for as long as possible)

If Lea is lying, we'll see the lies untangle as the game goes on. I don't see a point in testing Lea's claim this early in the game.

This doesn't really stand up to any logic.

I mean, maybe you come up with a reason to lynch Lea, but any additional info about the claim isn't likely to do it.

I mean, claiming your role doesn't give you a free Townie pass, even if the intents could be pro-town. Lea still has to scumhunt and contribute, and if she doesn't do either, then we have reason to suspect her claim.

If she behaves like scum, her lie will fall apart easily, just as it did last game. Testing it now would just be a waste of resources from town. I mean, that's what her intent was last game, right? Baiting townies into wasting their scans in an effort to "confirm" her.

But now she's being transparent about it, so power roles should try to scrutinize other players since Lea can always be resolved later.
... Not that it's the end of the world if someone does get curious. It's just better to scan any of the other 15 players when there's less info on them, compared to Lea who claimed within the first few posts of Day 1.

It looks like Death is actually trying to hunt for scum, but I remember someone in an earlier game saying that death could act anti-town as town, town lean on Death though because it looks hard to fake scum hunting so well as scum.

It could work depending on who the town actually is, but there will almost always be some who go against that kind of post. It simply has to work on enough people so that it significantly reduces his chance of getting lynched.

ScumBen's goal here could be convincing others that Lea's claim is real(if so, amazing teamwork here). It backfires if he is lynched though, hence the first part of his post

What parts of Death's play feel like he's actually scumhunting?

Plum's posts in the timeframe I was away have been absolutely horrific. They're mostly little one-liners that have no intent behind them and no bite either. As others have said, you can consider my vote to be there too, and if Plum's not dead today something has gone horribly wrong. The guy's so scummy that he got bloody Death to vote within the first half of the day.

If you're still around, Plum, I'm sure you could manage a little read-through and analysis of one player you think is scum? Y'know, the one you got asked to do in thirty minutes half a day ago?

All that said... I like the DYL vote from MZero. I've been thinking about some options to spice up the day, and he's a good pick. Again, stopping at one scum shows a lack of ambition! I liked BCT's few posts after the first one and Kirby has proven himself enough that I'm happy to give him time. I think Tidus and DYL are both fairly interesting routes to go down with our remaining time if we don't want to sleepwalk towards EoD. Red's a good option too, this is slim pickings for a D1 even for him. Regardless, let's start here.

Thoughts on the Plum lynch so far, DYL? I'm also curious, which of the four others I mentioned in the previous paragraph (BCT, Kirby, Tidus and Red) do you think we would be best off lynching as of now (yourself is also an option, pending your response)?

But not to make the day all about Plum here..

Looking back I am also surprised at how inactive DYL has been. Admittedly I cant remember if this is par for the DYL course. His opening post doesn't have specifically questionable stuff in it and yet it sounds... like it was written by a robot. As if the post just had to check some marks.

To compare I appreciate BCT's posts showing some effort and insight. He sounds like he is actually trying, even if it had to be forced out of him. But we can chalk that last bit up to inexperience with b8 I think?

Actually that is a fair point, Sheep. I dont even feel like I have been hunting that much actively. Thats not really my style on day1. But I will let Tidus explain why he felt that way before I come up with my own guesses as to what he defines as scumhunting.

After however many years you've been playing Mafia, do you genuinely think votes are "I want to lynch this person" and nothing more? I also find it fascinating that you chose to vote me over this, rather than MZero. Who you were voting before, and never actually made a case on, even after he voiced similar thoughts to myself!

If you look at Death and Sheep's votes on me you can see how weak they are. There is no reason for them to be voting me. There isn't thought process put in as to why it makes sense for me to be scum.

I feel like these votes should be a wakeup call that Hmm, maybe something odd is going on here.

Here's my thought process on you: you're put under a little bit of pressure from Han and start flailing under it, nobody's really townread you or even offered a case for you being Town so far (including yourself), and you just straight up haven't offered anything all game. It's all been snarky one-liners and contradictions and pretending to be oblivious to how you've played so far. You are doing nothing to change this and your play has no Town explanation, to me.

Meh, I think any votes at all are pressuring (especially for someone who hasn't played in a while), and DYL needs some pressure on him. There's always going to be some uncertainty with who's gonna be lynched, and Plum could change some minds, though that seems unlikely. It also gets reactions from other people! In this situation, Plum bit, although something about his response feels kinda forced? I can't quite put my finger on it.

I felt it when reading initially, though, before he literally forgot his own point. It guess it's that it seems like false outrage to try and seem more genuine, but that doesn't feel entirely right either?
