i never watched his show, nor did i ever say anything about him. just one day they started calling me that.

i got made fun of once because i had a popular sweater jacket thing but the graphic was peeling off so i just ripped it off and had a blue sweater. some kids were like that looks dumb. lol i didn't care. it felt good when i beat one of them for the spot on varsity wrestling. then he quit and made a big show of it because he didn't want to be jv. then he came back to get his spot back and lost again and got super butthurt and tried to fight afterwards lol.

I never even witnessed that kind of bullying in my schools. In my schools we'd uncover peoples secrets and tease them about it for years until they broke. For example..

One kid admitted or lied(Doesn't matter honestly) that he let his dog lick peanut butter off his dick in 8th grade. My group of friends made sure everyone knew and people harassed him about it for FOUR YEARS, almost daily. He allegedly got caught by his parents putting a gun to his head.

What did my friends do when they heard that? They went to his house and threw a baseball into his car and we wrote on the baseball "Zach how's your dog?"

Just for clarification, this was 12+ years ago and I do not defend these actions, I do in fact regret the things I did back then.

I dont remember that ever being an issue at my school, but I was lucky to go to a pretty chill small one where basically everyone in my class got along pretty well. My kid goes to the same school now, havent heard its an issue, but now they have to wear uniforms.

Man, this sounds like the stuff that would happen at my school. There are stories that I cannot possibly tell here (which I had nothing to do with) that happened at my school and people would literally have gone to juvenile hall if it happened today.

This type of psychological torture is a direct result of the introduction of zero tolerance policies. They just taught kids to stop hitting each other and make them want to commit suicide.

Man this got me thinking about how my group of friends in high school literally planned to set fire to a cars gas tank and blow it up at school so we go home early. Only reason we didn't do it is because we were too dumb to figure out how.

I don't blame kids for not knowing how to combat verbal bullying. But, you can pretty much disarm all that stuff with the right humor. Also, with some self awareness to lean into some of the things. Unless it's a really damning embarrassing thing, I guess. Especially with photo proof being more prevalent. Hard to shake hard evidence that they can keep using. At that point, you gotta fuck their mom.

This still happens in many circles. I've done it here once I knew someone well enough. I see the movement of anti bullying as more of a anti-gang up thing. If you let it slide online, it can turn from fun to overwhelming real quick. But in your personal life, no one really cares that much what you and your friends do. It's about intention as well. The internet obscures way too much to control what's what and it's easier just to keep it off public forums and sites.

It's a mix of not understanding the effects of their behaviour, and not caring what their behaviour does to another person. I think empathy tends to crystallize later than we'd maybe like to admit, and by the time someone understands the way they've fucked up another person's life via bullying, it's too late to lessen the effects of their behaviour.
