I just went to get my teeth cleaned cuz my insurance covers one free cleaning a year. First, they recommend I buy a seal for my teeth so I dont get cavities. Then, a cancer check for 35 dollars on my mouth or I can leave a google review for a free check.

then I keep getting pushed to get this laser gum cleaning instead. Its only 700 for each side of my mouth. Because the regular cleaning doesnt do much. When I said no, the dentist got mad and Ive just been sitting here for 10 minutes lmao

Is this one of those chain dental places like Aspen Dental?

I have a local dentist thats just 2 dentists (they just added a 3rd, but one of the guys might be close to retiring). They never bother me with that. In fact a couple of time when my kids had issues they did a quick check and didnt even charge me.

When's the last time you were at the dentist? Do you get yearly cleanings or has it been a while?

Dental Insurance doesn't cover anything anymore. Might as well not have insurance.

big chain dental places do that nickle and dime stuff and usually throw procedures at you that your insurance won't cover, but the problem even with smaller dental places is a lot of rules with a lot of dental insurances about what a procedure qualifies as its really fucking skeevy. things like getting a dental implant or a bridge so your jaws won't end up misshapen and damage the rest of your teeth end up being considered "cosmetic"

It's called up-selling. You went in for basic service and they want to make more money so they offer more expensive stuff. Its like going out to eat and they ask if you want a large. No difference.

Well my wife just got out the hospital for 7 days. not once were we up sold anything. And all I paid was 250 dollars for admittance. So I guess, you tried? It is you tho, your posts are usually trash

Its been like two years thats my laziness. But no cavities. I denied the laser and just said I wanted a regular cleaning. The guy that did it was like yeah you dont need the laser. Cleaned and I left. Not bad a experience besides the GameStop up selling

Ha, I wish! Night time grinding issue, and a bafflingly poor bite from having a lower jaw that's the wrong size for my upper jaw. I got a mold taken via scan for a night guard recently, and my dentist was bewildered by it and checked like 3 times that was really my bite pattern, lmao.

Time to find a new dentist. The one I go to never does any bullshit like this.

I drive 85 miles to see the same dentist I've seen since I was 18. Not even kidding. They are awesome and have never upsold me.

It pays to actually be good at what you do. My partner goes to the same dentist too now. Nothing like a yearly roadtrip to the Dentist.
