How is abortion treated?

As of now in PA it is legal, but that can change if Doug Mastriano is elected and it will be set back to 6 weeks.

Wisconsin has a law on the books from the 1840s banning abortion, and despite having a democrat governor theres fuck-all that can be done to overturn it

by the way, trigger laws are immediately in effect upon Supreme Court issuing their ruling

Not only that, but CT will not extradite anyone charged with a crime related to receiving or performing an abortion or transition care.
So CT is kicking ass and taking names on this issue.

Might change in the next 4 years though depending on how local politics reacts to this day

There's a law banning it after a certain number of weeks and another older law banning it entirely or something like that, so no one really knows yet. At least that's how the local news described it. Apparently my city has said it won't go after anyone who gets an abortion though, so that's almost something to be optimistic about.

Nebraska

Governor calling special session to revisit bill that was filibustered by state Dems a couple months ago. Bill would ban abortions with no exceptions even for rape, incest, or ectopic pregnancies, and would ban IVF if it is passed without being revised. I feel like the IVF thing was the only reason it didnt make it through before.

Kansas supreme court somehow had the sense to interpret the state constitution establishes the right to abortion separately from the federal government, so it now requires an amendment to make it illegal, hence the August 2nd vote. I'm not confident in the vote going the right way since Kansas is overall a red state outside of Wyandotte, Johnson, and Douglas counties, but there's at least a chance.

Even if he doesnt get elected, that only buys us until the next election. Unless theres a federal law put in place or a new judicial precedent, PA will always be at risk of going full Handmaids Tale if a Republican ever takes the Governors office

Yeah, it only is a matter of time. The General Assembly is shit and has pretty much no chance of going blue in the near future. Also, I can't wait for the attempt to put an abortion ban in the state constitution that cannot be blocked by the governor.

It's legal in the UK. Mostly.

Northern Island don't have the same benefits as the mainland, and instead are similar with Ireland's much more restrictive methods unfortunately. Meaning British citizens have to travel over to get the same service as the rest of us. For Northern Ireland, it's up to 12 weeks and 24 for the other Brits.

But we have many shitty Tories who would love to see access removed, all so they can get back "to the good old days of blighty and her GLORIOUS empire"
