The devs included all this shit that you don't even need in vanilla Skyrim

Why would you ever bother with sleeping in a bed or picking crops for gold or stop for food in an inn

Mods just take all the useless little features of vanilla and make them more useful and necessary

skyrim even without mods is a more lush, living world than elden ring. mainly because by design, souls games are just dead/dying worlds loaded with nothing but things that want to kill you or themselves, no towns, very few friendly NPCs, everything's just like a dessicated husk shambling around, and after like 5 games of that, it does get old.

the two shouldn't really be compared outside of simply having open worlds, though. if you want to compare something to elden ring, compare it with dragon's dogma, the game that did everything elden ring wanted to do, but better, a fucking decade ago

Dragon's Dogma is an entire class beneath Elden Ring in almost every single way.

One of the main problems with Skyrim is a lack of detail or effort into the story, including NPCs and unique locations

The game may as well not have any towna

May as well literally board up most of the doors in the cities too
