I keep getting those sound effect shit of "some UBS disconnected" and "some USB reconnected" and I have been trying to figure out what it is. my USB multi port is fine. My controller is fine. My keyboard is fine. seems like my mouse if the one that's fucked.

I shut down on me temporarily tonight a few times. I'm sad because I like it. It's been good. I ordered a new one and I had a amzon gift card so I don't have to pay. I just hope dying one stays alivefor the next few days. It should... but whoever knows with these things...

I went into emotional fucking mess mode tonight.

After being furious about the shit that happened a week ago and being completely unwanting to be around other people...

There was something scheduled for the 29th. I wasn't up for it. Several cousins (and a few of their kids) plus my parents were in and I told them earlier in the day that I was not up for it. My aunt (mother of 2 of said cousins also was not up for it. She has battled depression and other conditions for some time and is very difficult to motivate out of her house. When I said I was not up for it, my mother called me and we talked about it, including my aunt's condition, and it hurt because I often feel the exact same way as my aunt does and my mother is always "I don't get it" and I'm always "I know" but I do get it. I get it more than anyone else.

It took me a few drinks and a few smokes to chill the fuck out enough to show up and feel comfortable. My aunt did not make it. Everyone was glad to see me. I just tried to not be too fucking silly. My parents throwing around Trailer Park Boys references and my former boss (Cousin in law) going hard with Skyrim references made that easy as fuck. Food was awesome too.

but what was lost is that one cousin, the one I haven't always gotten along with (was rough when we had to work together) is getting married in a few months. We were buddies when we were kids. Our fathers are both fucking problematic abusive assholes (not related. He is his father's biological son but I am not biologically related to either of them but my father is no better. In a way that makes it more complicated).

I don't know where I'm going with this. I just think I said more than I meant to... but also said exactly as much as I meant to. Fuck me, man.

I do really like this mouse and I am really going to be sad to put it to pasture. It is logitech but I can't tell the specific model because that part of it is all scratched to fuck and worn off. She's acting up worse today, constantly disconnecting and reconnecting, sometimes after several seconds, often with barely any movement. Definitely not long for this world. I just hope she holds on for the next 4 days until the new one shows up. If not, I'm gonna have to use the touch pad. That would be... a real fucking bummer.

fuck yeah man! I could never do that but but I would be hyped as fuck if anyone I knew did. If you have what it takes, kick its ass but always stay humble... so many people are like "oh I'm so prepared for this it not gonna be so hard" and they get the shit beat out of them. You don't wanna be like that.

Don't get fucked in the head over having to kill when you're out there. Do what needs to be dones.

Get used to solitary everything and exploring the depths of your own mind. A lot of skilled-ass motherfuckers have quit because they were away from loved ones too hard for too long. This is the one and only skill I could bring to this sort of competition. I'm a solitary motherfucker >_<... and I've been up for 24-72 hours at a time. That's a trip.

This is something presented in the most reason season as one person's approach. It does make sense. Others have burnt out and quit early after expending too much energy on idealized shelter (and holy fuck some of them had GOD DAMN AMAZING SHELTERS but I guess in the process they gassed out. You gotta avoid that. Calories first. Building second).

Follow tool history. From what I understand, everyone is allowed to bring up to a certain amount of things from a designated list. Look that shit up. See what's worked. Plan according. The right tools can make you.

I am only 2 episodes through the current season but it seems like everyone has a bow and is irl 100 in Archery (good for them). If you aren't already on that, probably a good time to do so lol.

Yeah, there is a limited approved list of items you can bring, 10 total. Axe and bow would be definite, i've been into archery since I was a kid so i'm not bad, but I use a compound bow mostly which is restricted.

I'm watching the current season, i've seen them all. I've spent time in the field in the army, and I do a lot of self-survival stuff around my home all the time, building, gardening, fishing.

Some people on here have ridiculous resumes, so i'm not confident i'd be considered, but i'd still like to try just because.

I had that same response when he talked through it. I didn't get it at first. They hadn't shown it and I was "wtf did he rub berries in his hair out here?" but then he was like "I dyed my hair ahead of time and I was like "I didn't see that shit before."

Very good move. I also like seeing people bring in paracord and doing completely different shit with it, like "I brought this to see what I could make... now FISH NET, BITCHES!!" or "oh hey this blade can do something extra!" or "I'mma take apart this shit and make some fish hooks and line, no big deal"

the format was a reference to Top Gear (British real version with Jeremy Clarkson etc.)

I like the standard controller well enough, never really wanted to go to the Elite. Main difference from what I understand are the paddle controls on the hand grips that function as the top trigger/bumper buttons, so your fingers stay in place behind the controller instead of having two fingers on each side on the top buttons. Some people claim there's no going back from paddles, but I don't mind the layout as it is.
