I like the idea of pushing for a standard as long as it doesn't become one of those things that gets so tied up in bureaucracy that technology companies become unable to adapt.

Like, as long as we don't have to wait a decade post-release to get usb-d or whatever is next because it's tied up in Congress then cool, let's push for standards.

All such a law would end up actually doing, besides "fuck apple", is preventing mini-C from ever existing - and letting manufacturers get away with not including a charger, because they're "universal" now.
