Tulsa had a ridiculous amount of rich oil execs take over in the 30s to 50s and for a brief period of time it was one of the richest cities in the entire world, resulting in a downtown that basically looks like Mini New York City (one of Tulsa's buildings is literally one of the World Trade Center tower designs), and it's kind of bizarre but also really cool.
