I know in their final video Woolie said that Pat and Matt "aren't friends anymore", and Liam hinted that it was never the kind of work environment that the fan base thought it was, but did any of them ever come right out and say what the final straw was?

For a while I've been chalking it up to creative differences since after the breakup, Pat continued streaming on Twitch and Matt focused on more educational / scripted videos on his own channel, so it's possible that they simply couldn't agree on a direction for the channel moving forward and it caused a rift between them.

People grow apart over the years, basically. Just remember the good times.

The channel was going through some weird stuff for a while. Matt taking a break, Liam leaving, etc

IIRC the breakup was right after Smash came out. They had that fighting game series that usually recorded on Friday and came out on Saturday. Only on the weekend of the breakup they uploaded Woolies video instead.

The theory is that they were recording a Smash Ultimate session on Friday and some sort of huge fight happened that prompted the breakup.

Pat being a control freak I can definitely see, but I don't think I buy Matt being lazy. His solo channel shows just how much work he puts into YouTube every single day.

There was apparently a lot of beef between Matt/Liam and Pat, with Woolie basically trying his hardest to keep things together since Matt and Pat actually met through him.

It sounded like Pat was being a control freak, which caused Liam to leave. Then in the fallout of that, Matt started focusing more on his solo content, which Pat didn't like. After that things just went downhill

Did you watch any of their content in the year+ leading up to the breakup? Matt was completely phoning it in and dragged down nearly every LP he was part of and he basically became an occasional guest on the podcast rather than a co-host, and even when he did show up to it he would barely contribute anything

On the FFX lp Matt got super mad with the fans because they kept saying he's poisoning the well for Woolie and he was like "I actually like the game!"

But the first like 13 episodes are him almost exclusively shitting on it
