The peak of the series is Disgaea 5. Silent Hill Downpour is the best Silent Hill. Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a top tier RE game. Visage is the best "horror" game ever made. Atelier is the best "yearly release" franchise and they have only gotten better over time. Battlefield Hardline is one of the best games in the series. There is a scene in DQ XIS's post-game where something happens to someone and his response is literally something like "Wherefore wouldst thou" and it drains ALL of the emotion out of what would have been a rather emotional scene. Luckily you don't have to deal with it that much in XI, but modern releases of I and II have literally every single NPC speaking like that. Apparently it was also like that in the NES versions, but I grew up with the superior GBC versions so idk. If it was only a handful of certain NPCs that spoke like that, such as Kings, Sages, Gods etc, I would be okay with it, but having everyone talk like that really sucks. Also the completely over the top text accents that DQ IV and VII (3DS) have are stupid too.
