Second half definitely stronger then the first half. 7/10 series, looking forward to season 2.

Whoever keeps greenlighting live-action anime adaptions on Netflix needs their career ended.

Gotta admit, the last episode had some cool moments. I wouldn't rate it near that high though, i'll probably skip season 2 if they make one.

Just watched the first episode. Do people really think the writing in this show is worse than your average RE game? Seems about right for the content.

Its charming in a game but cringe for an adult. And a lot of online user reviews talk about the BLM, MeToo, LGBT agenda being shoved down their throats

Honestly, I think somewhere along the line the gaming community came to believe that negativity was the sign of intelligent criticism, and if you aren't negative about new releases you are a casual pleb. So they tend to be chronically unable to enjoy anything.

I think we can all feel very comfortable not giving these "criticisms" any time of day.

A good rule of thumb is that any review or opinion, from any person, about any piece of media, that has this as a complaint, can safely be ignored out of hand.

Big brands sell. Regardless of quality, lots of people will tune in just to see the trainwreck.

Also, I find it funny people crying about RE as if the stories in the games were something from Shakespeare. Stories back then were just a fucking afterthought. Then they wrote lines like jill sandwich and fans complain movies and series are not like the games ...yeah BECAUSE THEY FUCKING SUCKED

Agreed. But people keep bringing up low user scores while ignoring those who list these reasons as to why its bad.

Also, not finished yet but I can see it being actually decent. Just the RE tag has people triggered and expecting things.

It wasnt as bad as I was expecting, but it was still mediocre. Lance Reddick deserves better.

Every time I hear Lance Reddick I think of that one guy from Destiny lol

I thought it was decent. I just don't understand why it didn't have a subtitle, like "RE: New Generation" or something.

Just finished the season. Went in expecting a lazy cashgrab (though the combination of sci-fi/horror/action is simply an irresistible guilty pleasure of mine, especially if there's a post-apocalytic setting involved).

I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Even though there's plenty of poor decision-making by characters and cringey things happening purely for the sake of plot convenience, it kinda went to do its own thing, and didn't like completely mimic the games (only partially, obviously, since, you know, it's literally called Resident Evil). I was already glad it wasn't just another Escape-from-Raccoon-City story.

I was pretty engaged throughout the season, and I liked the back-and-forth between past and present (though I do think they could tilt the balance a bit with less past and more present).
All in all, it's definitely an acquired taste, but personally I like it well enough that I'd watch a second season.
