I sometimes feel certain that I'll wake up and it will be several years ago when everything was better. Is it just me?

A scattered dream that's like a far-off memory... a far-off memory that's like a scattered dream... i want to line the pieces up... yours and mine.

Reminds me of those "Wake up bro it's 2006" videos, where everyone in the comments section everyone's doing the "Come on man, you said you'd help me with that prankster comet Bouldergeist level, I really wanna max this game out in the first month! Eh? Pandemic? Rioting? Global Warming? What're you on about man, you have a weird dream or something?" bit.

Going by that I'm guessing lots of people entertain that thought. I kinda like it too.

over the last two years i went from living a pretty quiet life and not a lot ever happening beyond personal dramas to losing my job for a lesser one, half of my immediate family dying and being stuck living with a drug addict

yeah, its been like walking through a bad dream

I've been having a progressively worse dream that has lasted since the early 90's when my brain gained consciousness.

I have long since abandoned and hope that I'll wake up from it.

My life has been getting progressively worse since the early 2010s. Literally every single person in my family save for my mother and sibling passed away, and my mental health's been taking a downward spiral as I can't afford any kind of insurance or therapy.

I think as a whole, everything started to go down the drain once smartphones and broadband internet access became affordable to the masses.

I feel bad for those whose lives have gotten worse but mine has been great. Since 2015, I graduated college, got my first job, got a promotion at a new company, got to change to fully remote work, got a promotion again, and am making six figures for the first time. It's been great.

Are you trying to get people to think that? It's like asking, "Ever get scared? Ever wonder if someone is following you? Are you afraid of the dark sometimes? Do you believe in monsters?"

I wanted to be in the moment today because of stuff happening (like an ER visit), but now is kinda a bummer summer so I went for a walk in the heat so I could at least control my sweat.

The world has been feeling shitty since around 2011-2012. I blame 2008.

My whole life feels like some kind of dream. Everything feels like it happened years ago but also just yesterday at the same time.

I married, built a house and had a kid.

Life's better than ever.
