As a Brewers fan who has gone to many games, you can't get two beers for $9, nor can you get two sodas for $6 unless you are legit just buying cans from a vendor. Each beer is $7-8. I don't remember seeing hotdogs for that cheap either.

I suspect that the numbers in the chart aren't updated for every team.
Those numbers for for each individual item. So a single soda for $6, and a single beer for $9. You would then multiply each of those by 2. And the hot dogs would be multiplied by 4.

That's just for the 5 primary parking lots. There are other parking lots around.

I guess. I figured they just factored in the lots run by the team, considering they're not taking the secondary ticket market into account when they're calculating the price of tickets, I wouldn't think they'd consider giving the guy at one of the Queens chop shops $10 to park in his garage as a valid parking option.

I go to Giants games a few times a season. Won't pretend they aren't overpriced, but if you are smart you can get a deal.

That being said, I have little patience for overpriced ballpark beers. Would rather pregame for much cheaper. The food options are great though, so I usually am okay splurging on that for a crab sandwich and garlic fries.
Also, it's easy as hell get to Oracle Park on public transit via either Caltrain or Muni, I know this isn't how it works in other "cities" like LA but still you never actually have to pay for the gouged parking lots. Oakland Coliseum is also nice for this as well as it has its own BART stop

Same with Citi Field and Yankee Stadium.

Although for a family of 4, paying $30 to park at Citi is cheaper than 4 people taking LIRR.

Never been to a MLB game, and I've only been to a couple minor league games as a kid/teen. Baseball is not my game. I don't enjoy watching it.

The Pirates have been bad for so long except for that one freak year they made the playoffs (2013 I think) that 3 years ago during the 3 Rivers Regatta I walked up to PNC half drunk, and bought a $20 ticket 3 mins before the first pitch. No one else in my group wanted to go so I went in by myself and sat in an empty section by myself and loved it lol

At the very least, the Pirates have an absolutely gorgeous stadium. PNC Park is one of the best in the majors. Sucks that they cant put a good team on the field though.

I'd be curious to see how a pair of NFL or NHL tickets in the same/regional markets compares to the 4 MLB tickets.

The Onion posted a pretty funny article once that PNC Park threatened to leave Pittsburgh unless a better team was built. I think it was published in like 2004 and it still holds up today lol... but yes, while the stadium lacks a lot of modern amenities that many modern stadiums have today, the view of the city skyline from the ballpark is absolutely amazing

Pittsburgh is legit one of the most beautiful cities in America, which is weird considering the reputation it has.

This post is flat out false and i don't know where they get their numbers from. I've been to plenty of games at the Pirates PNC Park and a beer is like $10.50.

also, some other Pittsburgh things: the Pirates went to the playoffs 3 years in a row(2013, 14 and 15). All 3 of those years were the play-in game, where they lost 2 of them but to me that counts(but it isn't impressive).

And yeah, PNC park ranks top 5 in any listing of best stadiums in America. Entering the city via the Fort Pitt Tunnels has been rated as one of the best ways to enter a US city and also been called "the only city with a front door" because, say, if you are coming from the airport, all you see is suburbia/rolling hills of Western PA until you pass through the tunnel and the city smacks you in the face on the other side.

As far as the Pirates future, I expect us to compete next year and be legit good in 2 years, because our core of young players look like they can develop well. Right now we aren't that great but that same core makes us a really interesting team to watch. Though, this team does let you down so if in 3 years we haven't done anything i say par for the course.

Used to go to a shit ton of baseball games, probably only like 5 or so in the last 10 years though. Hoping to catch a game this season, was looking at like $20 tickets and lol at people drinking multiple beers at games. Get a nice buzz going before hand and then just babysit a beer to keep it going.

@argonautweakend

Well that's how it goes man, once they start to develop and want some $, Bob Nutting will trade them for more prospects. Pirates have been on the "5-year rebuild" plan since 1993.

Now I'm a yinzer through and through, born and raised in the south hills of Pgh, lived in Harrisburg for like 5 years otherwise have been here my whole life. In terms of pro sports teams I follow there's a reason the Pirates are a distant third. And it's not even because they don't win (I still followed the Penguins in 2003 during that horrendous 18 game losing streak when everyone else jumped off the bandwagon, and l still follow the Steelers, they haven't been to a super bowl in a decade plus now).

The reason I lost all faith in the Pirates is because Bob Nutting sees the team as nothing more than a cash cow. He's been accused of pocketing MLB revenue share money instead of investing it in the team, and while I don't think it's ever been proven, I 100% believe it.

I hope you're right, but more than likely it'll be groundhog day all over again just like every other time they've had a good core of young players with potential for the last 25 years.

I quit caring about mundane sports when I was 15 including Olympics. Been almost 30 years and I still don't care. I barely watch any TV at all. If I'm lucky probably 10 hours a month and that's about 45 mins in the morning for cartoons and the weather. Heart and soul of sports has been crapped on so many times over the past 30 years it's mostly about the money and acting stupid. Stop "dancing" like a fool and play the god damn game.
