Sometimes I'll associate a context to a track in the contest by having played the game it's from and the feelings I had hearing it in-game, like Collapsed Expressway. Sometimes I'll hear a track I haven't played the game for and reminisce about my personal circumstances and reaction when I first listened to the soundtrack, like Imbrium. Hollows fits a third context category that I didn't really form fully until recently. Hollows is one of DireKrow's tracks. It reminds me of Dire specifically, because he was the one who introduced it to me during VGM in 2021 guessing game planning and spoke about how much he liked it. Listening to it, I recognize the elements of it that I know he'd like, from the melody to the beat to the overall feel. It's hard to quantify, but I do know that I'm much more fond of this track than I'd initially expect because of it. Music is the connective tissue of this community, and there aren't a lot of tracks in the contest that remind me of how it brings us together more than Hollows does.
