We found fossilized patches of pebbly skin from various parts of the body. At best, you could argue that tyrannosaurus had patches of feathers in the missing areas. But every YouTube thumbnail I see for a tyrannosaurus-related video has them decked out from head to toe with feathers. Some of them have it depicted as more feather than animal.

The people who say that the feathers disintegrated with time and only the scaly skin underneath was fossilized are being extremely stubborn with their desire for a tyrannosaurus with full plumage. Feathers are fossilized all the time.

It's not really suddenly. They were almost universally viewed as having feathers for at least two or three decades by experts as far as I'm aware. Its just that most Hollywood producers don't think feathers look cool.

In 2017 or 2018, they found pebbly skin from various parts of the body. Two years ago, they revealed the most accurate T. rex ever, Fleshy.

Now, we have bird Rexes once again in our dinosaur documentaries.

Because people didnt pay enough attention during Jurassic Park

I think baby and juvenile Rex had downy feathers like young birds, and adults had pebbly skin.

Birds are dinosaurs and most of their traits evolved for a different purpose in a common ancestor that they share with their non-bird dinosaur relatives. Said traits were repurposed for a specialized flight based lifestyle.

Feathers are used for warmth too, not just flight.
