Had the game for half a decade now. Just never clicked for me until recently when I had the urge to play it. Really bad camera and lack of a proper dodge (fuck that offensive defensive nonsense) but otherwise a great game.

The ridiculous dialogue carried my interest up until I got good at the combat, then it was a really fun game to play. A shame that the camera sucked so much, I feel like my combos were getting interrupted by a bunch of bs shit I couldn't see off screen. Bosses were a mix of great to mediocre. Monsoon was the hardest, the shield guy was the worst boss imo, and Armstrong was 80% cutscene which worked out well surprisingly.

Beat it on hard and got A's and B's throughout. Took 5 hours so it was really short. Tried to get through the codecs but the Doktor's were so long and boring lol Probably gonna do the Sam and Wolf part before I try and play the main campaign again. Might attempt more of the VR missions as well but some of them are just bullshit lol

7/10 better than Peace Walker.

I really enjoyed the game, but I'm in the minority where I wasn't feeling the fight with the senator. I liked his character, though.

the fight felt impossible to me until someone said something about how once the health packs fall out, you can save, so you have some in your inventory if you have to start the fight over.

that was the ONLY reason I could beat the game, since my controller wasn't allowing me to me to cut those pillars no matter how much I tried.

the camera is admittedly not wonderful but you can alleviate most of the problems by turning up the sensitivity. offensive defense is super op though, i dunno what problem you could have with it. it basically makes it so that no matter what direction you go in you get a shitton of iframes. you can just dodge directly into huge swings or even grab attacks and be fine

The gameplay for that fight wasn't good imo but the cutscenes carried it. Sometimes to a fault tho cuz right when you're getting into the groove of whooping some ass a cutscene just puts that all on pause.

It also introduced some weird fighting strategies late in the game. Like having to blade mode him in the back when he was healing. Took me a few tries to figure out wtf to do there. And I agree that the blade mode for the things he throws at you was really hard to get down. I didn't know you could save afterwards tho and restart with more healing packs. I went into the fight with 1 healing pack lmao

Yeah I feel the fight with the senator was a big jump in difficulty. Love that game. Wish it had a sequel.

I just wanted a proper dodge roll that could lead into more attacks fluidly. I also felt like I was dodging into attacks from enemies kinda often. Maybe that's just cuz I wasn't all that good though.

I had fun with it, but it definitely wasn't worth 60 bucks imo.

I remember having a blast redoing the first few levels, then once I started past the sundowner level, it felt like a completely different game

Top tier boss music though

The replay's kind of a patience tester. You still can't skip the slow walking segments, skipping codecs has this weird thing where it's like you have to let them get a syllable out each time, bosses melt irrespective of the difficulty you picked with two exceptions. Lots of the samey lab/base/office building parts really start blending together too.

I'm sort of disappointed with the last stretch against Armstrong. Sometimes it feels like he defeats himself for you, he sometimes does a QTE attack which results in him losing a load of health every time, goes for the green regen move where you hit him once in the back then he's open for ages. He can pour away a hell of a lot of health in just two moves.

Armstrong stole the show for a lot of people, but Jetstream Sam was the best character in that game imo
