I don't feel much enthusiasm because i didn't see a focus on pretty and hot female in skimpy clothes and I'm also not particularly fond of the "make america great again" vibe. What's your take?

Anyway calling yourself "non woke" just means you're trying way too hard to cater to that 14 year old mentality. Not interested.

My take is that they're garbage.

I'm basing this entirely on the phrase "non-woke" and you linking a fucking Fox News video, but I'm 120% sure I'm right.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts.

My first thought is that if you're specifically angling for something to be "non-woke" you are, ironically, being just as political as the content you're complaining about.

Also amusing that they mention "classic Superman stories" as a contrast to "wokeness" when he's been woke since the 30s. >_>

That all said color me morbidly curious as to what the content of this comic looks like. Gonna see if there's a way to read it <_<

By "non-woke", does it mean the opposite politics (conservative instead of progressive), or NO politics at all? Just good writing, comic book fun and adventure, etc?

It seems as if they use the phrase "non-woke" merely as a marketing buzz phrase to push pre-sales for their comics. When I imagine the people that would go out of their way to buy something that's "non-woke" I'm not picturing those kinds of people browsing through the comic book section and picking up Rippaverse comics on their own without a lot of prompting. It's a comic book company founded by a black dude and someone that's presumably Muslim, making comics absolutely littered with poc and appropriately dressed costumed women with muscles. I think these guys are trying to take advantage of the MAGA crowd just to get their money, sorta like the black teen girl that said all the right buzz words in a gofundme just to take advantage of racists and take their money.

If a black person speaks GOP talking points, they can get over easily. Remember it was this youtuber called Some Black Dude or something like that and that is what he got over on. Some days I think of just making an online persona where I just do that. But then I remember I have integrity and say DAMMIT .

Yeah I think these guys are trying to appeal to the racist comic book fan that will buy their comic out of sheer spite of "wokeness" without any sort of consideration to what they're actually buying or looking at. They're going the Diamond and Silk route and I'm not sure if they're actually committed to the bit.

Given the advertising as non-woke and it being featured on fox, my bet is that it'll be using a black mouth piece to push right wing talking points.

So I've been digging around and apparently the creator isn't planning to release these digitally? The only way to read is to buy the $35 physical volumes lol.

They have a "code of ethics" on their website which doesn't actually mention much, if anything, about politics. Mostly seems to be complaining about reboots and continuity, and making promises that their comics aren't going to become a clusterfuck.

Idk, I'm a bit skeptical on them sustaining "organic growth" if the only way to actually read these things is through crowdfunding campaigns, lol

In the video they specifically say, they arent "anti-woke" they just are non-woke.
One of the two men claim to have worked for DC comics and was tired of "doing things their way".

Dont have high hopes but hope they succeed in their dream of making good comics.

That link is about a TV show that has nothing to do with those characters you mentioned. The show was cancelled years before they were even created.

The comic book New Warriors with Safespace and Snowflake was also never released. So we have no idea whether those characters were to be taken seriously, were supposed to be tongue-in-cheek or a parody. They've never existed outside the many hours worth of content on angry neckbeard youtube.

so are these comics where superheroes just go around and only save straight white christian males form danger?
like are we going to see one of these heroes interrupt a sexual assault just to tell the victim its her own fault for leading the guy attacking her on before leaving her to her fate?

will they catch someone falling from a bridge and then question them about their sexuality or gender identity and then drop them if they answer that they are LGBT?

I just find this hilarious because conservatives consider anything featuring a black person prominently at all to be "woke" and....that's exactly what we have here lmao

I'd only really think it's bad if 'non-woke' is code for republican politics. Otherwise it's just garden variety grifting. 3 million copies though, good for those two.
