You ever have a crush who, for one reason or another, you imagine being this perfect, wonderful, brilliant person, but its just your imagination running wild, and you are creating a girl who really doesn't exist out of a real person. You do this unconsciously, without realizing what your mind is doing. This is dangerous because the more you build up that fantasy of who you think she is, or what you expect her to be, the more crushed you're going to be when you feel when reality finally sets in. When this happens, its not the girl's fault obviously, it is your own. They were your expectations, you imagined her to be something she never was, so the disappointment and pain are your fault.

This behaviour can lead to love bombing and when this girl you've built up and treated like a queen suddenly seems a bit more meh to you(or like, human), they might be the ones really hurt after initially feeling so attractive. A crash after a massive high is so much worse. Especially if they were trying to just be themselves the whole time
