It doesn't actually affect me personally because I nommed everything I really care about but the point is its never going to be completely fair for everyone. There are definitely people who missed out because the nomination windows were so small. imo it's more unfair to close nominations so early when the previous contests had much longer nomination periods, so no one expected them to close so fast. Besides, I don't think anyone would mind if you bumped up the cut-off anyway (and as far as I can tell, they could change their noms anyway if they wanted to)

of course, it's your contest and you should do whatever you think is right, but that's my two cents

GT2 would've gotten in if you'd doubled it lol

the idea that gt2 needed a double to get in at all wasn't one i wanted to consider

I wish I'd doubled it too, but it's probably best to be snubbed than blown out in R1.

It may make a decent run in the snubbed poll if that's happening this time.

I love how FF8 and Smash is placed in the same bracket for strongest game of 99. FF8 murdered Smash in that Game of the Year poll but if we retake it today, it will likely be a 55-45 match in FF8's favor.

Gran Turismo 1 and 2 were very good racing games for the time they came in but they have been thoroughly eclipsed by later entries in the series kinda like how Smash Wii U is completely obsolete after Ultimate. Forza is now the king of 'realistic' racing games/driving simulator but even that barely gets any recognition these days and would likely get killed in a Round 1 match around here.

In short, hardly anybody gives a shit about realistic racing games anymore. Only Mario Kart and toon racing games like CTR and DKR have achieved 'timeless' status at this point. F-Zero has its die-hard fanbase, Gran Turismo doesn't have a fanbase that is nearly that loyal nor does it have the staying power of the Mario Kart games. Not surprised that neither games have made the bracket at all.

So there were 61 games with 2 or 3 nominations. I randomized the 1-nom games for the final 3 entrants of a 64-entrant bracket and they were:
