They should replace all guns with tranquilizer guns and rifles. They do the same thing in subduing their enemies but with significant less chance of killing, and mommies around the world will be happy.

Assuming we're talking about Murrican cops, no. Completely overhaul police training and culture first, put much more emphasis on de-escalation, try it out for several years, and then consider phasing out civilian gun possession before banning it.

(Yes, I know literally none of this will ever happen)
