They all came out around the same time. What surprises me: Far Cry aged like absolute shit, but visually was pretty damn ambitious given the GPUs available. Looks bad, by today's standards. Half-Life 2 still has the best presentation and game play by a country mile. It also helps that Valve kept it updated for two decades. Taken as a whole, it's the only one of the three that still holds up to modern standards. Doom 3 looks ****ing incredible for a game from 2004, and the weird thing is I don't remember thinking it looked that much better than other games of the day. But it's blatantly obvious in retrospect that the graphics in Doom 3 were WAY ahead of their time - especially in regards to lighting and textures.
