Hey guys I'm 32 and I've found a mentally vulnerable teenager should I 'hang out with her'

A young girl like that could end up being completely crushed by a situation like that, and me expressing an interest in hanging out with her might get her hopes up that something real can develop one day, when realistically, it can't.

Exactly. Unless this is 100% platonic on both of your parts, which I doubt, at least one of you will be hurt by this, possibly seriously hurt.

You are likely feeling validated and good about yourself by having this younger, attractive woman interested in you, whether sexual or not. I get it, as I have heen there. But trust me, that this is unlikely to end well.

It's a coworker he talks to in 6 minute increments a day, the coworker part especially is concerning but the fact they talk for literally single digit minutes per conversation is just... Christ.

What is her home life situation? Still living with parents? Absent father? Roommates or something? Whats the deal?

Regardless, I see this ending either with you on the hook for child support or stabbed. Coin flip.

It's true. Your comments have spoken the loudest to me. I think I'll just find happiness in knowing she's my work bestie, and never spend time with her alone outside of work. See? This is why I needed this topic. Very productive response that showed me I was about to make an irrational decision out of emotion.

For fuck's sake. Probably 30 minutes per week on average, seeing each other once or twice a week, if that. That means sometimes we just say hi, sometimes we talk for an hour. You can not seriously think that an average time means that it is split into identical increments.

I said we work on opposite shifts. We have a one hour overlap, IF she closes that day. So with a one-hour overlap, once or twice a week, if that.... 15-minute to one-hour conversations are a lot, and can be very heart-felt.

And even if it were literally 6 minutes per day every time....... a lot of conversation can happen in 6 minutes several days per week. People have definitely established close bonds with much less time. I guarantee someone has made a significant impression on you with less time before, and vice versa. This is exactly why as a general rule, I ignore you in this forum, and i know I'm far from alone on that.

I don't necessarily agree with that rule. When I started dating my current gf, she was a little outside that rule (just by like a year). Now she is just inside it.

But I had known her for 3 years before we started dating, and I held off on dating her even though I knew she was interested because I had to be sure I wouldn't simply hurt her.

I guess I am saying that it shouldn't be a rule, but people need to have heightened awareness of their different stages and everyone needs to be completely open with intentions.

Well... technically I broke it by one year... for a few months. But I feel like while people say "the rule" as a joke, it kinda fit the "stages of life" where people are. Usually the younger can catch up to the older easily. Obviously couples that are outside "the rule" can work, but I think it gives a decent range
