I have a thinkpad t-460, bought it when this line just came out. Its been amazing, no issues whatsoever. I love the soft plastic, I've been pretty rough with this laptop and it does not break. The keyboard is great, good feedback with the keys. The mousepad is solid. IMO this is perfect.

I haven't done laptop research in years though. My wife wants a laptop so I'm thinking bout just getting her the latest thinkpad 14" series. She currently has a lenovo yoga and hates it. I don't like it either. The keyboard and mousepad are trash. it just looks nice but its not as functional as a thinkpad. the touch screen is useless too.

The best non-gaming laptop is a shitty Chinese turd I bought for $84.
It does everything a facebook grandma or gamefaqs shitposter needs to do.
