I've always avoided that show because it reminded me too much of Adventure Time and Adventure Time is complete ass-incarnate.

But if the people working on SU are cool enough to use Mike Krol's music, it can't be all that bad, right?

It's nothing like Adventure Time. And you better hurry if you want to watch it, it could go the way of those other shows locked in a vault forever for tax write offs.

Bad opinion

It starts off as slice of life, then at one point, it starts developing a story. I would say it gets good when Peridot shows up.

The show has some pretty lame filler at really bad points where the story should be developing.

The ending is pretty love it or hate it, depending on your view of the world, really.

Overall, I liked it and think it sends a pretty good message. Watch the movie, and Future, once you finish the main series. If you didnt like the ending, it definitely shows the outcome of what it meant and did to some characters, and how you cant just wrap everything in a nice bow and live happily after all that crap.

I had a friend who said something similar about how he hated the filler it had, and how they were placed.

It takes quite a while to get interesting. The first episodes feel pretty lame imo and try to picky back off of Steven just being a little weirdo. Later on though, it really finds it's legs, gets interesting and stops focusing on just being quirky, but stays quirky while also telling a good story with compelling characters. But it does take a while to hit that stride, and imo is kinda difficult to sit through till then.

It's biggest issue imo was that when it was airing you'd have to wait nearly a year for a few more episodes, and then they'd finally release and they'd be about stupid shit like onion and his toys. Now that the show is complete, it's not much of a problem anymore

i think it was pretty charming as a little slice-of-life thing early on
it starts to more interesting when the story begins to really start, but the show really failed to continue living up to its potential

Great show. Some friends introduced me to it around the middle of S4 and binged it with me up to that point. It took a couple dozen episodes or so for me to really warm up to Steven himself. He takes some getting used to at first, and then the show really takes off.

i remember in college this guy pulled out his phone to show me a steven universe musical video at full volume in a classroom full of people

id probably think the show was cool if i tried it, but ig the fans put me off lol

The Show is excellent. The Fandom can be quite toxic but as someone else said, since it is done now that element has softened
