Probably a more interesting question would be who gets the most discrimination by socioeconomic status (i.e. who do high-income people discriminate against most vs low-income people). I suspect the answers may be different. Black people are probably discriminated against the most by low-income people. High income people, I'd say Jewish or Asian people may be contenders. A lot of the anti-Asian attacks were perpetrated by black people as well.

but you cant compare that to the horrific systemic discrimination that black and brown people have faced, its not even close.

"have faced". The topic is asking who currently faces the most.
You can talk about the Midnight Rides, Emmett Till, the rampant lynchings, Recy Taylor, segregation, Jim Crowe laws, etc. all you want. They're all horrible to be sure. But they're hardly relevant any more.

No, most of the discrimination is self-perceived, drilled into the minds of impressionable youth of the black community by their parents or grandparents who are passing on an environment from decades ago that hardly applies now. This in turn has black youth growing up believing times now are even remotely comparable to the 50's or 60's. And when they're not where they are in life? They don't put effort into getting out of it. No, blame the white man.
Because hey! Why work for something when it SHOULD be given to you for free for something your ancestors suffered, right?
Never mind that it's not a physical difference, but a mental difference that influences success. If skin color really is such a factor, then how come one of the wealthiest ethnic groups in the USA are Nigerian?
Because it's a difference of mindset, not skin color. Black Americans aren't in a better spot because these ideals that are brainwashed into them from an early age--by their own communities and families--that hinders them and makes them believe that they can't be more than what they are, when that is simply not true.

So now you have black individuals looking for racism in everything, and media trying to capitalize on this to gain support and points within the community. For instance when it comes to police, they'll show you all the George Floyd incidents because it plays on the oppression narrative of white vs. black, the narrative the black community's so ready to believe because society and their parents drilled it into their head; but god forbid they show you
Daniel Shaver
Jennifer Ertman and Elizabeth Pena
or make a big deal over them.
... You know what the real shame is? I bet most reading this are gonna go google who those people are.
Congratulations, you proved my point.

This brainwashed perception to look for racism in everything is quite counterproductive as well. So many will tell you about the racism they face daily, but then they tell you about it and there's no clear sign of racism at all.
Like getting stared at in public. Did they say something racist? Maybe they think you're attractive. Maybe they think you're very tall or short. Maybe they think you're ugly. Maybe the local demographic doesn't expose them much to particular ethnic groups. Maybe your skin looks nice or uncared for to them, that they privately evaluate for everyone white, Asian, black, Mexican, etc.. There are tons of reasons.
When the fact of the matter is tons of people catch glances or stares every day.

So what happens? Living your life chasing a societal boogeyman that never existed. Always jumping straight to fear-mongering theories which in turn leads to the conspiracy-theory-loving reputation that the black community is so well known for.

Here's also some interesting statistics from some studies, with a brief takeaway if you don't want to read them:

http://www.equality-of-opportunity.org/assets/documents/race_summary.pdf
TAKEAWAY: Black men perform worse than white men on average in equitable homes/income levels, but black women and white women perform evenly on average under the same conditions.

https://www.ramseysolutions.com/retirement/the-national-study-of-millionaires-research
TAKEAWAY: Survey of 10,000 people, 74% of millennials and 52% of baby boomers believed millionaires inherited their wealth. Only 21% of millionaires inherited wealth of any kind: 16% inherited more than $100,000, only 3% inherited $1,000,000 or more. (For those trying to say other communities wealth is largely inherited, which is simply not true)

Lastly, I can't find the link, but regarding low average income in the black communities...
According to the Center on Education and the Workforce at Georgetown University, black university students more likely to pursue majors that lead to low-paying jobs, leading to future debt and unemployment due to oversaturation. This naturally contributes to the wealth gap between white and black people that covers generations.
This is important because black college students are over-represented in service-oriented fields: humanities, education and social work. American society does not value service-oriented occupations.

Seriously, when a black man is not doing well in life it's because he's black? When a white man is not doing well in life its because he made poor choices?
But... when a black man is successful its because he made good decisions? When a white man is successful it's because he's white?
At what point does the individual have to be held accountable for their decisions that led them to where they are now?

As a mixed white and black guy, I've gotta say I recommend Thomas Sowell if anyone's curious about these dynamics.
And I know. "You said you were black at the start! You have no right to talk about it!"

This actually leads into my answer to TC's question:
I think Asians and mixed children raised in black communities face the most discrimination currently.
The lengths the black community will go to to strip a mixed kid of their non-black heritage, to brainwash them into ignoring it, is deplorable. It's even worse if you have lighter skin.
Their insistence on implementing the one-drop rule, to oppress your identity in favor of your black self lest you be labeled a slur or nonblack arbitrarily based on if you agree with them or not is aggravating.
It's sad how much of an "us vs them" mentality runs rampant in the black community, and it's largely fictitious, held back by their own families or the media.

If you're one of the ones who think my opinion matters less from my mixed heritage, I only have one thing to say:

Native Americans and Alaska Natives. I lived in AK for 16 years and was constantly disgusted by the open and accepted racism towards them. "They're all drunk racist and unemployed blah blah" and I'm like "yeah, a foreign culture introducing a narcotic with no education or regulation on it to a native population that's never had it before tends to do that". Or "you do understand there are still AKs alive right now who experienced the colonization and near eradication of their culture, right? I feel like they get a pass on not trusting the white man."

American Indians definitely get shat on the worst imo, but it's kind of forgotten about or overlooked since we, yknow, tried to kill all of them a century or two back and people literally forget they're still around.

You're right, it's all in our mind!

Are you serious right now? Things are better now than they were in the past. But there's still a lot of discrimination against black people. Other ethnicities get discriminated against too, but let's not act like it's sunshine and rainbows for black people now. We have a long way to go.

You think people are just kidding around when they repeat things like "only 13% of the population" every time there's a news article about a black person committing a crime. They genuinely believe their hatred is justified.

And what happened with Ahmaud Arbery was pretty much a modern day lynching. So much for that being a thing of the past, right?

well, if you look at the statistics from the standpoint of people discriminated between 2:45 PM and 5:57 PM on a Wednesday night between 3rd and 19th street NW in the 90214 zip code on January, July and September it CLEARLY is East Asians and Jewish

lmao. There was a whole summer of people burning down cities because they are getting killed by law enforcement. You hear news like black guy gets asked for his ID when pulled over and then he got shot 4+ times when he reached for his ID. You dont hear Jewish/East Asian guy gets killed for reaching for his ID when pulled over

lets not even get into sentencing. We hear cases of black people getting years for shop lifting or jaywalking (3 strikes) while you also hear stories of old white dude getting away with assault or violence, or that football player guy that got no jail time for rape because the judge didnt want him to miss the college experience.

the jan 6th rioters are mostly getting away with a slap on the wrist, and one of the only ones to get a huge sentence was the black guy.

were talking about more serious discrimination here, such as police violence, job discrimination, being targeted by white supremacist groups or white supremacist politicians, differences when dealing with the court system, etc, not whether little Jimmy gets made fun of by his neighbors or bullied at school

The NBC article says that the source of the data claiming most anti-Asian attacks are white is from an examination of media reports. Would be interested in seeing a more comprehensive study from official government statistics, but it's certainly possible that African American attacks on Asian Americans are more visible in the public eye even if they may not be as common. But that source isn't what I would consider proof, even if it is certainly suggestive.

From the first article.......

Janelle Wong, a professor of American Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, released analysis last week, based on official crime statistics and other studies, showing more than three-quarters of offenders of anti-Asian hate crimes and incidents, previous to and during the pandemic, have been white.

Interesting, although not as definitive as you say. For example, the study itself said that Asian American hate crimes were the most underreported, and of the reported incidents, 19.3% were missing the offender's race. Another interesting quote that I'll have to keep in mind in the future states that "it is commonly recognized that official data may not reflect the actual prevalence of crimes." It also notes some issues with the selectiveness of the NIBRS reporting and states that "Consequently, the results of the present analysis may not fully represent the general patterns of hate crimes against Asian Americans, and other minority groups." I think that the articles citing the study try to make stronger conclusions than the study itself.

You may still be in the right here, but the gaps and issues with the data do not warrant the confidence you have.

Grow up. I haven't said any lies, and quoted the study that the articles are referencing, which acknowledged the limitations in said study. You just want to score internet points and seem to only be interested in scratching that hate itch.

No, all you want to do is continue with the lie that black people are the main ones attacking Asians when it shows otherwise.

But hey, continue with your belief.

How is he scratching the hate itch? Your entire back and forth started after he disagreed with your claim that "A lot of the anti-Asian attacks were perpetrated by black people as well" which is something the media was pushing.

Nah bruh, this is way more sus of you than it is of him. I'm sure if it confirmed your bias you'd accept it no problem. You can continue with your bias tho.

Black woman, followed by black men. But most of they're issues are more internal then anything else. Asains suffer alot but that's due more to stupidity and or ignorance more then anything.

Majority of the anti-Asian attacks are committed by white people. This has already been proven.

Remember that one white guy who committed almost 50% of Asian attacks in his city? lol, I think he's not even in jail right now.

EDIT: He only committed 50%

Eh. Since you guys delved into specifically hate crimes and not just broad discrimination the stats are the same as they've been for ages. Black victims the most by far, followed by LGBT and Jews. As for discrimination in a broad spectrum of areas probably still hits black people the hardest but there is a ig issue with Asians in colleges.

Living in Canada, it's always been the indigenous people that had the most to deal with. They had to deal with genocide, eugenics, and get put into reserves. They barely even exist anymore because of genocide.

I never claimed that. Read my post. I said a lot of the attacks were. Not the main ones. That being said, I'm more receptive to the idea that white people are the main ones attacking Asian Americans. I just have a problem with you aggressively saying it's conclusive proof, while the study itself acknowlededges itself numerous issues with the methodology (which aren't necessarily their fault), that makes drawing firm conclusions difficult. But again, you seem to want to spout bile more than have an open and honest discussion.
