Nah. I'm very happy where I am (North Shore suburbs of Chicago), and have no intention of moving even though we could easily afford it.

If I had the choice of living my current life with my current financial situation or NYC with no money concerns then yes. NYC is great for rich people.

Given the choice of NYC or anywhere else without money concerns though I'd pick somewhere else.

NYC is a terrible place to live, visiting is ok but not live there.

If I could afford a high rise condo or 2+ story townhome with a place to park there then maybe, otherwise lol no.

But I'd say that for just about any major city not surrounded by nothingness. Really the only thing I'm jealous of is NYC's 24/7 metro. If DC had that I wouldn't even entertain the thought of living in NYC

NYC is easily one of the best cities in the world if you have an excess of capital. Its up there with any other city on the planet

Ah, my beloved birthplace. The place "everyone" says they'd never live, but as soon as an apartment vacancy opens it gets driven up 500% due to all the people competing for it. People still moving to NYC while money is a massive issues and rather cry about the rent and have roommates than live most other places.

NYC is garbage and this is coming from someone who lives a hop, skip and jump away from it.

It's got great food and some great museums but other than that it's a filthy city with Flinstones-tier infrastructure and truly miserable people.

But hey, movies and TV tell us it's a bustling land of endless opportunities and stories, so it must be true.
