No, that is the mod quoting the sentence that got him banned. The guy basically said that calling the MCU the "M SHE U" was more appropriate. Which got him a swift ban.

I say fair next. I've seen nothing good from the people who use that term.

I think this is fine. The whole "M-She-U" thing has been given enough time for discourse. It mostly boils down to people using it as an excuse to hate on women. If you look into the posting histories of a lot of the channels or users who are unironically using that tagline, you often times find misogyny and hate.

While I think that, even if your opinions are garbage ones, you should have a right to say it- subreddits and forums are supposed to be communities that have polite conversation and exchange memes. If somebody came to my house intentionally trying to annoy everyone by using toxic taglines, I'd give them the boot. I wouldn't really call the removal of toxicity to be "censorship" in the same way as say, throwing dissenting opinions in the gulag.

This is often true... But I don't think superheroes on the whole are exactly reflective of reality either. Like I cannot take Batman seriously at all and he is obviously just as much the product of fantasy as any anime character.

Yea but if that is your point then it amounts to saying "people are getting mad at women because they are on the screen" which has nothing to do with how they are portrayed, which would make the anime comparison quite apt still.

If your point is that people are upset about how the women are portrayed, then I don't really know what to say because a lot of the characters are different. Comic fans are pretty fair here and usually spot when a character is done well or poorly, with the opinion being fairly common. Like people hated Cap'n Marvel because she is a woman on screen, yes, but they also needed less general reasons that wouldn't apply to every super hero.

But women in movies are presented that way almost every time. That makes no sense to me because western media is usually also guilty of catering to the "needs to be visually pleasing" base. If you are going to talk about a common denominator, you're already going to have to question whether things should be appealing by design. There are no ugly Marvel heroes. In fact ugliness in stuff like this is usually the result of an accident or something even worse.

What happened is that the Quartering hijacked some film buff's Twitter thread to bemoan the state of leftists virtue-signalling about how Hitler was bad. Sort of like "wow we get it leftists, you don't need to drum it into everyone's heads like we're morons! stop repeating the obvious, not everything is a Nazi!".

The issue being that the thread he hijacked was about the film buff guy talking about a black and white movie he enjoyed, a troll saying "that was one of Hitler's favorite movies apparently", leading to the film buff guy replying "fuck Hitler". The Quartering acted like this was a triggered SJW pissbaby comparing Trumpers to Nazis, but it was a short conversation specifically about the historical figure of Adolf Hitler, in response to another user directly invoking that guy's name and history.

And he doubled down again and again, despite the fact that he was being an obnoxious shit-for-brains on a thread that had nothing to do with his dumbfuck little stand against "The Left's War On Nazis" or whatever dismissive term these fuckwits use whenever "Nazi" comes up in relation to the right.
