they said they were looking for someone, and had a warrant for their arrest. turns out it was an old tenant. said she missed her court date.

i wonder if the old tenant got in trouble with the law and ran off because i remember getting tons of bills from utility companies addressed to her for a long time when moving here.

Comcast wouldn't let me sign up for internet until i went down there and proved i was a different person with a new lease because they thought i was just changing my name to avoid paying the 2000 dollars she owed comcast.

crazy shit.

also why do cops dress like they're soldiers. these dudes were wearing like body armor and had tons of stuff strapped on to them to fight folks. and for what, to arrest some lady?

Protection from their own crossfire

I had the cops show up once asking for someone named Brian, and my friend Brian was over at the time.
So my dad came and got him, and were both like....wtf...

It turns out they were looking for a different Brian...who we knew.
But as it really turned out, that Brian was hiding in our basement rolled up in an old carpet.
~I'm not even sure what they wanted him for. I'd assume it was for some petty shit.
That and he was somewhat squatting in an abandoned house about a block over.

Did you say "good afternoon, bastards! What can I do for you?"

After seeing some of the cop videos on graphic/leak sites, I can see why.

Some of the people they deal with are incredibly dangerous, especially when they know they're about to be arrested and clearly well aware of what they did.

One of the worst ones I remember seeing was the woman who bit the officer on the arm and tore off some skin >_<

Eh, the gear is just standard dress for patrol officers, I'm sure. I don't think they typically gear up/down depending on the call.

No, it's a tragedy.
But that was an odd moment.
I think it was late 80's early 90's.
It is a true story though.
