Or Egyptian

Something more ancient or at least with a different vibe to it.

Like Name of the Wind being set in something resembling the Enlightenment/Victorian era

KT made several games set in Roman and Greek times, one is a damn near forgotten gem, and Troy Musou, the more known title sold poorly, Egyptian themes are a big risk due to Twitter being offended.

Personally I want more fantasy based in non-European settings.

Read Cultivation novels (and there are literally thousands), they all have an ancient Chinese aesthetic.

Not the setting I was thinking, but a good suggestion nonetheless. Only cultivation books Ive read are Cradle.

one thing I like about Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire's aesthetic is that it's more colonial/Caribbean than medieval European.

edit: if you're familiar with The Soldier Son trilogy, it has a frontier aesthetic, which I think is cool.

Glory of Heracles was a pretty decent RPG for the DS that was set in Greek mythology.

I was blown away by that game. So good. Loved the steam punk, fantasy, pirate blended setting.

I'd like to see some Native American lore settings.

There was a trilogy of DnD novels in like the 90s, based on Aztec or Mayan culture

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maztica_Trilogy?wprov=sfla1

It's set in the same world that Drizzt lives in, if you know that name. But set in that world's version of Mexico
