That speech was the ugliest speech by a POTUS in my lifetime. The man lumped pro 2A and prolife voters in with Jan 6 rioters. Completely sad, and more divisive than anything Trump said in 4 years.

Black white and red are the Nazi colours (it's usually smart to not have those 3 colours together in any context, eg a Sports uniform) and in that photo people kept posting on the first page his suit in front of the red are the only colours in shot

But the further back angle shows the red was part of a red and blue America scheme so it's just editing to make it look Nazi

He viewed this country through a lens where only the states that voted for him deserved federal aid when disaster struck. He spent his entire administration calling Democrats radicals and Communists. Personally, Trump had a lot of flaws, there is no argument from me there. I voted for Cruz in the primary in 2016 because I thought Trump would be too liberal and was a Democrat in disguise.

I voted for him in 2016 because I didn't want a left wing Supreme Court for the next 10-20 years. In that regard Trump was phenomenal. The tax cuts were great and the Trump economy up until Covid was the best in the history of this country. Trump's foreign policy was also very successful. The same countries who laughed in Trump's face about Russian oil are now looking at a dark, dark winter... And mideast was in better shape after 4 years of his presidency.

I also defend Trump in these regards - the Dems first impeachment was a sham imo, and Russian collusion hoax was engineered by Hillary Clinton.

But clearly there were things that could have and should have been done differently in the last year of his presidency with Covid, riots, etc.

That's the main reason I am on board with new blood in 2024. I think DeSantis provides the best blend of policy, personality, and effectiveness moving forward.

Trump is an absolute moron, but he wasnt afraid of calling people out. I never remember him calling Democrat voters communists and radicals, he mostly attacked other politicians or the media. Feel free to call me out on that though.

As for violence, Ive noticed a lot of Trumps speeches being manipulated, and the media would jump on the edit and attach violence to it. Mostly his both sides speech and his 1/6 speech, both of which were harmless if you watched the whole speech and not the edits. Speaking of violence, I know of a lot of Democrats that gladly stood on podiums calling for people to go out into the streets and push back against those who disagree with them, and a lot of people bailed out of jail during the BLM riots by Democratic politicians, namely a certain Vice President. Again, Im using a same thing both sides argument, but most violence based arguments against Trump sprung up from edited speeches. You can say the same about Bidens speech last night, but the red imagery was broadcast the same on every network, and he had choice words for voters, not politicians.

As for the red states only getting federal aid, I dont know enough to respond to that.

You are willfully ignoring the fact that Trump called Democrats fascists. Trump also commonly read scripts, and you're willfully ignoring that, too. Some people who voted for Trump no longer support him, but the people who still support him even after he incited the insurrection where he damn near got multiple members of congress and his own vice president killed... And hand-wave the fact that he has stolen classified documents... Those people are indeed rather fascist individuals.

These people are already prepared to drop Trump like a bad habit. If he does get arrested and he can't get out of this one, they'll eventually just say Trump (a RINO) betrayed them and move on to the next demagogue.

They have no intention to learn, change, or coexist.

Trump supporters were happy with Trump:

• Mocking a disabled reporter
• Insulting John McCain's military service
• Insulting John McCain even after he died

• Repeatedly siding with Putin and Saudi Arabia over US intelligence agencies

During his speech, he made a very clear differentiation between patriotic Republicans who hold allegiance to America, and the anti-American fascists who still support Trump after he incited a terrorist attack at the Capitol as part of his attempt to overthrow the government. There's nothing to backtrack there really.
