Pro is better because you have better storylines and a higher level of play.

But I do love me some college

I care about college football a little bit (I rarely actually watch games, but I'll check scores for a few schools with which either my parents or I have some affiliation and maybe watch like a rivalry or bowl game). I've never cared about professional football at all.

Pro is higher quality of play but it can't match the atmosphere of college, so I favor college. Love them both though.

The NFL has a higher level of play and more competitive games, which is what I'm looking for, not to mention that college football is becoming more and more of a hot mess.

College.

The amateur nature of it makes it more exciting game to watch.

What? Many of the ranked teams today completely blew out their opponents.

College football has 20+ point spreads on a weekly basis. That almost never happens in the NFL.

College but it's probably an atmosphere thing. I get together every week to watch college football with friends. NFL I barely ever watch or go out of my way to watch. But I would if my friends did it similar to college

Sure, but that's what happens when you're dealing with 120+ teams instead of 32. At the same time, it's not hard to find a really good and competitive college football game in pretty much any time slot on a given Saturday. There's plenty of good stuff available each week that isn't Alabama/Utah State.

like you'll never see something like the 4th quarter of UNC/Appalachian State today in the NFL (for better or for worse, I guess, your mileage may vary)

I haven't watched a college football game in like... 10 years. Even when I was in college I didn't watch my school's games. Never really saw the appeal of college sports, especially if you don't go to the school

NFL by a mile

I've always preferred the college game. NFL spreads are so close every week between any teams, whereas in college you could have a 20-point underdog come out and upset a big favorite. Couple that with rivalries (not arbitrary divisional matches) and trophy games, the marching bands, different styles of play...College football is just so much more fun all around. Pro football seems like a stream of new guys coming in, putting in ~3 years of hard work, signing a big contract and then dialing back their effort once they get paid. College, while not quite as high-level, gives you most everyone's maximum effort while they try to make it to the pros.

Both of them are killing their players, turning their brains to mush, breaking their bodies, not teaching them how to invest in their futures... but at least the NFL pays bank to rob their players of everything. College sports that make billions and can't be bothered to make sure the players get any of their basic needs met... fuck them. Then again, recent moves suggest the NCAA's power is rapidly decaying and it probably won't be long before college players start getting a salary, at least in the top 3-4 conferences.

There's tons of turnover in the NFL too. It's just the biggest names that tend to stick around for longer.

In other words: College players will become pro athletes and won't be there for an education anymore.

Okay, I'm not saying it's more competitive than the NFL, but to say there's no competition at all is false.

Well obviously I was not saying that every single college football game is decided before it's played. Don't be obtuse.

But it's silly how teams like Alabama can win half their games every season just by showing up.

They are? Less than one percent of players are going to go to a pro league after their stint college. You can argue semantics but amateurs is what they are.

And like I said because of that more insane/crazy shit is likely to happen. Just makes for a more exciting game.

Okay, but you aren't stuck watching Alabama every week if you don't want to see them dominate. My point is that it's relatively easy to find an exciting game, so "it's not competitive" doesn't really fly with me.

Also the old college OT rules were great. The new OT rules are garbage.

Well, "new" as in the last few years. The "teams trade attempts at 2 point conversion tries after the 2nd OT" rule sucks hard.

Oh gotcha. Yeah not a fan of that either but I still prefer it over the NFL(though I somewhat understand why the NFL has it the way they have it. And admittedly they are doing a better job at improving it as it goes over the last few years).
