It just didn't do a good job of making you care about the characters or the world. The second episode was much better, but it still felt like stuff was just happening without any build-up, and it isn't easy to like Galadriel. Rings of Power is The Wheel of Time's inverse: The Wheel of Time started incredibly strong but ended terribly.
