Was watching Les Miserables in London a few years ago, and little Cosette was white, but when the time jumped and she was reintroduced, adult Cosette was black (when adult Cosette first came out, I was so confused who that was, until she started singing and I realized that was adult Cosette). I laughed so much at this people were glaring at me, like I'm the weird one.

Why wouldn't you cast a black girl for little Cosette so there's some continuity with a black adult Cosette? Such weird casting choices.

in a stage play it honestly doesn't seem weird at all to me. the actors don't have to match the characters as closely as you'd expect in a movie or TV show

Stage plays have gone thousands of years without giving a shit about identity politics.

Who should we cast as Aphrodite? How about Bobcrates with the beer belly and man breasts cause he can act the hell out of the part.
