I believe the leading theory is that it was not the Titanic that sunk, it was it's sister ship the Olympic (which was almost identical in structure). It was just disguised as the Titanic as part of some insurance scam by the company who owned them.

Two of the three of them in fact. Funny enough, Olympic was the only ship of that class that didnt sink, although it was involved in some incidents.

That ship class was cursed af, and was way too big for the time they existed in.

More on topic, the post in the OP is just a Twitter loony. I could understand if MTG or someone said this, but this isnt even a politician, its just some rando. Stop giving them attention and move on.

The idea is that the damage wasnt economical to fix, not that it was damaged beyond repair. The insurance money was going to be enough to do the repairs. The idea is still total BS though.

The conspiracy theory is easily disproven by the fact that there are visible structural differences between the ships if you know where to look. The wreck matched pictures of the Titanic in the shipyards and before it sailed, which really should have put that conspiracy to rest.

It wasnt an accident while docking. She was heading to the English Channel as part of her 5th voyage when she collided with a cruiser. Their insurer refused to pay out due to the Olympic being at fault in the collision. The accident while docking in New York during her maiden voyage didnt do any damage. Plus both the Olympic and the Titanic were insured based on the idea they were unsinkable, not just the Titanic. As for whether they refused to insure the Olympic any further, I cant say for sure one way or the other since Ive never read anything about that, but since she sailed for another 24 years Id assume there must have been insurance.
