I am pretty poor by most standards. That said I budget and make room for hobbies and stuff still. I'm not uncomfortable.

poor in form, not in bank

I'm able to maintain a middle class standard of living - I pay my bills, have very little debt, and live in a reasonable neighborhood.

I take home about $29K a year

So I'm not technically poor but I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of 'middle class'

I thought I was great till I saw some dude say he has like 750k saved up. That must feel amazing .

My wife and I, are technically millionaires if you combined our bank accounts.

I make less than I did when I was younger but that was by choice. Finally have a job I like that isn't stressful. Just doesn't pay as much, which is ok.

My wife and I together make it work. She makes more than I do. We go out to eat with the kids a few times a month. Are able to go on a nice vacation once a year with a few smaller trips throughout the year. We own our home. Mortgage isn't too bad.

I fix most things myself and I'm pretty frugal, which helps make things work. Usually hit up thrift stores for clothes, books, etc. Spend most of our time at home, but we're surrounded by acres of woods with a huge creek where I fish all the time.

So yeah, I'm poor in the sense I don't make much. But I have a nice house we bought new (modular), live in a nice area, and have everything we could need. Probably also helps I keep my wants few. Have inexpensive hobbies that I enjoy. Other than the amount I waste on beer I'm good.

Federal poverty level is like 12k with a single income.

CE needs to rescale their perception of wealth and relative status.

Im absolutely whats considered a low value male.

And its annoying because I actually like myself a lot but Im not ignorant to what goes on

Yes.

Born and raised middle class

After I moved out on my own I began living a poor life. I have never had a job that paid more than minimum wage I don't think.

Poor in both funds, and quality of overall life and history.

Grew up middle class. My wife and I have recently clawed our way to upper middle class. Very content here.
