Like just clean up after yourself and then clean a little extra however often you need

Unless you live with a ton of animals or children or something, it just seems idk... extra lazy? I guess it's good to employ other people and it's not to hate people that are cleaners, more like the people that hire them. Just bothers me on some level.

i could argue this about any service you pay someone else to do for you.

you don't cook your own food? glutton
you don't change your own oil? glutton
you don't sew your own clothes by hand? glutton
don't mow your own lawn? glutton

Me too. Except health problems make it a mother fucker. No matter how careful you are shit still gets dirty, and someone has to clean it up. If you're not able to, you'll have to either afford to pay someone, or just let it go and do the best you can.

Why do you care about what other people do with their money? What a weird hang up.

I've never hired cleaners, but I can understand why people do. Some people don't have the tools and equipment to do a deep clean nor do they have the understanding of the safety of certain chemicals coming in to contact or the fumes they produce.

for the sake of argument, say someone makes $100 an hour and it costs $50/hour to hire a cleaner. in that case it makes more financial sense for that person to pay someone else to clean, because at the end of that hour that person is $50 richer by outsourcing that work.

Odds are if the person has the money to afford a cleaning person, they are at least somewhat financially secure and probably have other ways they want to spend their time.

If they decide to use their extra cash to provide employment as opposed to dropping it on useless shit, frankly I think thats a good thing.

It's werid to have absolutley zero idea of the meaning of wordse you're using, if anything hiring a cleaner is slothful but regardless, who cares how people spend their money? I think having a car is the height of arrogance and waste but I'm not going around telling people not to drive them. Get over yourself TC, please tell us what you spend money on so we can shit all over it.

i spend days cleaning up before the cleaner gets here. i hire them to do a deep clean because they are a professional and i'm just some random idiot. people have a misconception that they're picking up my laundry off the floor which is just not true. they're making the house look brand new again.... it takes them about 4 hours when it would take me 30 and wouldn't look as good. it's a valid and respectable profession.

It's all about time vs money. People can have tons of money and make more money every time. You're only ever running out of time to enjoy your life.

Going out to eat is gluttonous.

exactly. time is the most valuable resource we are given because it's impossible to get more. we can always make more money.

There is also much more to being clean than just picking up after yourself. Thats the easy part. I wonder if TC ever scrubs his toilets, tub and showers. Cleaned his microwave, fridge, sink, cabinets, etc. You can keep tidy but that doesnt mean your home is clean.

What does that have to do with gluttony?

IMO, hiring kleaners is for non-basic stuff like steaming your karpets. Or if you're some busy rich guy with a house much bigger than you need.

My wife and I both work full time.

2 young kids at home.

yeah, we try to keep the house neat when we can. But we aint got time to scrub bathrooms and kitchens and cabinets.

so we hire a cleaning service every two weeks to give the house a good clean.

A good cleaner doesn't only clean, they make it look like nothing there happened at all. From video to audio to, well, everything and one.

Anyways though, if I could afford it I would never clean and just pay someone. I'm one of those people that feels more comfortable helping other people clean than cleaning for my self.

I see nothing wrong with it. But I feel like Id be the type to clean more myself if ai hired a cleaner. Cause even though it's their job, Id feel like Im disrespecting them by pushing off too much on them lol. At least when I don't have a cleaner, if I let dishes build up a lil or my laundry overflow the basket a lot, Im the only one being effected by it.

Also, my dishes building up is really not even that bad, since I rinse everything and only put them in the sink because I didn't deeply scrub them yet. So, it's not like it creates a smell.

I do clean beyond tidying up

Perhaps sloth was the right word, I meant gluttonous as in over indulging in your own mess
