Everything about this game is beautiful except the gameplay :/

(Which I've gotten accustomed to on the deck , works way better as a portable game)

I agree and that's coming from someone who hates the game. The soundtrack and Sazh are it's redeeming qualities

I agree. The music is so good. The main battle theme Blinded By Light is my favorite battle theme in any JRPG so far. The Violins are so damn good.

But the gameplay is beautiful too. Being able to quickly paradigm shift between different roles is a lot of fun during boss fights.

Only about 7 hrs in but does the game ever let you customize the paradigm stuff? Right now it just gives me presets which is kind of meh

It's a JRPG. Anyone older than around 22 is old. And he's 40, so to them he's ancient lol

It's one of the few mainline games I haven't played, but it has one of the best battle themes in the series

Eventually they do, but it takes a while. I enjoyed the game, but that was my biggest issue with the game. You don't have full control over your party members for quite a while.

Real talk though, aside from like 15 which FF doesnt have a beautiful soundtrack?

even 1-4 have some damn good music for their age imo.

12 didn't wow me. They went for sounding like background soundtrack for a movie, which is fine, but none of the tracks are really catchy as a result of that

It has a beautiful OST. I liked the gameplay when I first played it and still do to an extent, but it's slightly outclassed by FF X imo

Gameplay was ok, problem was no side content til the end and it was all monster hunts anyway. Also not a very strong story.

It doesn't help that the game felt almost like a corridor. Yeah... FFX was also linear, but you still had exploration. I do admit that I would love a FFx remake with bigger more modern maps

That scene where we about to see upskirt panty shot of Vanille but the Lil chocobo blocked his view was pretty darn risquee

I like that people dislike Vanille.

Honestly yeah, 12's music didn't blow me away. I actually enjoyed the FF12 Piano Collections more than that actual in-game music. It's a shame none of those arrangements were in the game. Like this one

I frequented the game boards a lot at launch and the main issue people had with Vanille were the sounds that she makes in battle. Sounds almost like she's moaning lol.

The only character I hated was Hope. Snow was okay, but I thought his head scarf looked dumb.

The music is good and the game looks amazing, even on PS3.

Maybe one day I'll play longer than an hour to find out if the game is actually.

Also I find it weird how despite how much steam Sony/Squeenix gave the trilogy at the time despite not having the best reception, that it's the one thing they yet to have remaster for the current gen.

thats true actually, I havent played it in so long but thinking back I cant think of any songs that jump out at me. Might have to go through the soundtrack again when Theatrythm final bar line comes out to see but I think youre right about it.
