Still as true today as it was then! I've tried to ease off on things here recently since it's hard for me to not go more than all-in with these things. Like from CIII-CX I was dumb invested in pushing Zell as hard as I could. Honestly if it didn't happen in CX I don't know if it would have. The CX/CXI Zellgamesh runs (with Vivi final boss for both basically) was the result of so much work that burned me out really. Plus I'm on team no repeat winners, even with my favorite of all time so I shifted priorities to giving my secondaries some good runs (some of which also have wins!) so I'm happy overall, even if I'll never see Zell get another deep run. If I nom him back in, it'll just end up with him going out in boots, which sucks to see. --- If you wake up at a different time, in a different place, could you wake up as a different person? #theresafreakingghostafterus ... Oh fun. I swapped over to Jessie so late in the contest than my "primary" was still Barret. Third is Ramza who I had been saving fairly consistently early on. I haven't had a need to save him in...like fifty rounds though but those early rounds added up! I used to be Team Never Again, but then Vivi opened the floodgates so now all bets are off. I just can't see myself pushing this hard for a character I've already watched overcome the odds, but I wasn't there for Auron's victory nor Balthier's and I'd still love to see Yuna and/or Sephiroth join the hallowed ranks of championship. But it's like... even if all your contest dreams came through where would you go from there? If I were you and Selphie, Squall, Rinoa, Ultimecia, Doomtrain, and- fuck I don't even know who else, Aki fucking Ross I guess- went as far as I thought they ever had the potential to go and no new characters were invented by Square-Enix that outranked them then why wouldn't I just go back to saving Zell? That's how I feel now about Tidus except for the fact that I haven't played every FF so I can't say for sure if I would like any characters more than him, but it's really doubtful. FFDragon posted... Those rankings would hold more water if Laguna weren't literally a former finalist. Look I didn't say it was guaranteed to happen only that it has the potential of happening with or without FFD! However it is of course highly more likely to happen if he joins sooner than top 25 or whenever he usually hops aboard. I mean look at how Super Strong Rinoa was even before FFD's participation.
