Getting the crypto gambling sites banned is still good even if the normal sites aren't. It was way easier for underage players to get on those crypto gambling sites, people were literally bypassing the checks.

Gambling is an awful habit but I get the draw to it. Get rich quick schemes never work out.

It's so crazy in retrospect what Twitch has become, but I guess all this IRL drama stuff is what people want. I've mostly just watched people playing video games they are skilled at with some commentary on the game.

The gambling issue is interesting in that, as others mention, at what point are things like lootboxes classed as gambling?

Think of the children laws/rules are almost always bad, and are thinly veiled ways to control the masses.

Anti gambling laws/regulations are not "think of the kids" laws. Adults are the ones with gambling addictions, not kids.

But they can't ban all types of gambling because then they'd have to ban all the games with lootboxes from being streamed

Twitch didnt take it far enough. They should ban games with other forms of gambling such as Diablo immortal and other loot box games. They shouldnt have exceptions for sports betting or the others either.

I'm thinking of giving streaming a go when I move into my new place. One of the games I wanna play is Vegas Stakes, so I'm glad this is just actual 100% real-money betting websites and not like gambling video games with zero irl buy-in.

I'm all for limiting real-money gambling streams, but virtual games of chance like in a video game or a fake money betting website like saltybet is fine.

Ideally Mizkif gets the boot from OTK, but i'm not sure that's gonna happen. Unfortunately you have people like hasan who are still kind of running defense for him by continuing to cover the drama but not denounce Mizkif. No surprise there, Hasan is a clout goblin and he would cover for another streamer guilty of much worse if that meant he could farm some clout and views off of them.

He only "inserted" himself into it after X and Train literally dragged him and Poki into it because those two have some weird hatred for Hasan and Poki (likely because they are two of the biggest voices against gambling) and this whole thing was a play by Train to get the attention off gambling after the Slicker story

but also why give Train and XQC a pass? They also inserted themselves into this tbh.

I don't think Train exactly inserted himself since Adrianah came to him to help her get her story out. That said I don't think for a second that Train helped purely to help her out. Given who he is and how defensive he gets about gambling, I'm sure he had the ulterior motive of trying to take attention away from the gambling. And of course instead of hard focusing on Slick/Miz, he dragged Poki + Hasan into it because of his long standing beef with them and their anti-gambling stance.

XQC on the other hand didn't have any business being involved.

Even so, Train shouldn't been tweeting "otk is hiding multiple sexual assaults!"

If he wanted to encourage Adrianah or Mitch to speak up, he should have done that.
