Maze_ 09/24/22 12:20:12 PM #1:	As you can probably tell I don't play many Metroid games but what I have played involves her going into the depths of demon planets by herself and getting spanked for hours as she struggles to stay alive in a nightmarish hell of predators and monsters. Which I understand once, but second time round why doesn't she bring some back up? Even Sonic has a posse, Samus is no James Sunderland, she's allowed to bring some support on her journey, --- When the going gets tough, the tough go have a little cry in the corner. LinkDaLunatic 09/24/22 12:43:01 PM #10:	this is something the average metroid player doesn't understand... but the true metroid enjoyer knows it well. samus does this on purpose. she deliberately throws herself into impossible situations, loses her powerups, and then begins the climb all over again. she decimates enemies as she slowly regains power. she does it because otherwise it'd just be too easy, and samus herself still doesn't know her limits. so she keeps testing herself... trying her limits... pushing forward. if there is a ceiling, she hasn't touched it yet. samus goes to a hostile planet, and the danger becomes a matter of opinion. to an onlooker, samus is in danger. to samus... everyone else is. <cite>LinkDaLunatic posted [p:968262818] in Why doesn'... I'd like to hear though because it's ridiculous. she frequently tiers higher than her power suit incarnation. her moveset was improvised without a single drop of creativity - her moveset could easily be slapped on, say, Jody Summers or Krystal from Star Fox and it would make just as much sense, it hardly feels metroid themed at all. so at that point people usually say "well they didn't have a lot to go off of..." well, sounds like they didn't have a reason to make her a character then, other than T&A. and if anyone says she's not sexualized they're being ridiculous. they gave her a whip and rocket high heels, a generic 'sexy dommy mommy' voice saying mildly suggestive things, until ultimate she had a barbie body which was at its worst in 4 (moar like zero muscle samus), and she even has a taunt where she spins around like a dancer with her whip coiled around her. it just sucks. at least ultimate tried to improve it, but it doesn't even feel like a representation of samus. this is all just opinions, of course, but yeah. that's how i feel about it. <cite>LinkDaLunatic posted [p:968278059] in Why doesn'...
