I get the feeling NVidia is trying to justify buying a new video card when graphics haven't really progressed much in the last 10 years by adding new crap to old games. I've seen a lot of RTX comparison videos, and none have ever wowed me. Usually there is little to no perceptible difference to me, and when there is, it usually just looks like someone turned up the brightness or contrast on the screen. With the Gen 7 consoles in the mid 2000s, I think the diminishing returns of graphics card power vs actual graphical output was beginning to become clear. Games that released 10 to 15 years ago don't really look significantly worse than games in the last 5 years. Nintendo Wii games are an exception for obvious reasons, of course. Graphics don't "wow" me anymore. If companies are focusing on technical advancements, I'm more concerned with consistent frame rates, fast loading times, and quick accessibility.
