Is that majority of randoms don't give a fuck. Most of them are casuals and aren't gonna try hard and don't have the proper grasp of competition.

They're there for shits and giggles and don't really care if they win or not. In fact it's probably funner for them to see an ally go all butthurt about the seriousness of the game.

I often have to remind myself of this shit when I play a game like LoL or L4D2.

That's why I just stick to fighting games. No dead weight to stop me from winning

I mean I try to win. I just don't have time to study a game learn optimal strategy. When it comes to weapon selection though yeah I'm going for what's fun over what's best.

I don't play online much though and when I did it was with my best friend with other randos. He knew my strengths and weaknesses though and would cater to it. Like in Halo I was run n gun with a shotgun or battle rifle (was pretty good with headshots at medium or closer range) and he'd sit back with a sniper and pick off anyone who thought they could get the drop on me.

So basically I drew them out and he'd pick em off. Enemy snipers where my only problem. But he'd usually pick them off after they nailed me

A lot if coop games are so brain dead that most people can figure out so it's tolerable. But even then some people are beyond brain dead games. Imagine playing a healer character and refusing to heal your team because of ego or similar dumb shit

I pride myself on the fact that in the 20 years I've been playing with randos I've gotten a single hate message calling me a hacker for beating their ass in DCU Online PvP. Yet I've gotten several from complete strangers telling me I'm one of the most considerate players they've played with, even without using a mic. When I'm playing co-op or team based things, I'm 100% there for the team.

My friend qnd I used to have a competition on who got the most hate mail in street fighter.

I never responded to em. But I'm honestly surprised he didn't get banned with some of his responses.

I got them mainly cause I'd use the taunt feature as often as I could provided ibknew they couldn't punish me for it.
