I don't say this about many people, but Lena Dunham really does feel like a virtue signaller wrt to LGBTQ people. It may be authentic, but she certainly seems like she thinks she should be praised for it.

I've not been seeing that since her autobiography comments gained traction. It's pretty much completely objective by this point.

The closest defense I see is in clips of Girls having comments like "this show was so good, sucks about Lena being shitty tho"

This is not the case, many publications have made excuses for all of her horrible actions. The fact that she got a show, and kept a show going for 6 years when not many people watched it highlights just how well connected she was. People talk about canceling all the shit she says and have done should have gotten her canceled.

Someone with well connected parents that helped her get a show on HBO, about 20 year old annoying white girls and the Kylo Ren, living in New York. When they did finally get a black person on the show. He was literally a straw republican.
