Alicent is far worse, but just in this episode alone Rhaenyra tried to have Laenor assassinated and there's plenty more from her to come. She's definitely not good despite being better than Alicent.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the whole plan was to make it look like he was assassinated. The whole conversation they had earlier, plus the conversation with Daemon, and him sailing out to see, were all supposed to show that.

From what I remember it was something like the two got into a fight somewhere and Qarl killed him, but its never elaborated upon what exactly happened

I agree with this. The person Daemon killed was who they used to fake the death. And even if Laenor wasn't in on it, I don't think he'll be a problem because he recognizes his duty and what Rhaenyra and her sons need.

Is there going to be another time jump where characters get older, I'm thinking all of the kids will be older in the show since they want those kids to fight each other, and one is a dragon rider already.

Damn that episode was on fire. The kid brawl was intense. And I love the Corlys line of history will remember names. And poor king just wants to keep his dysfunctional family and kingdom intact. I can feel for Alicent as well, she was pretty much forced to do her duty while her ex bestie is doing whatever she wants waiting to become The Queen.
